Who's still excited that we got Ronnie Brown???

So you'd accept a bad trade? Glad your not our GM. They tried to trade the pick desperately and got no where near fair value so they stuck where they were. Rodgers blows also. There was a reason 23 teams passed on him.

They tried to trade the pick? Well thank you Nick Saban. You know nothing...as i know nothing and us speculating is just that. This was merely my OPINION. Oh and i guess there was a reason 26 teams passed on Marino too right? Think before you speak. I'll also add in that since WE DID NOT go QB....im glad we got Brown. He looks like a solid piece of foundation to build on.

I didn't post it to "ruffle your feathers."

I posted it to re-kindle the excitement about him on this DOLPHINS (not bills) message board.

So, like I said, IGNORE IT.

Don't stress over the Bill fans, they have one avg. season now in their minds their the team to beat...whatever. We have so much talent on this team we may not be what Saban wants us to be, but with good coaching (for a change) we will see the potental thats been here. I love every player we drafted, and nearly all the FA's signed. Saban knows things Wanny didn't. And coaching in the NFL has nothing to do with it. He knows how to coach period. He understands how to get players to produce. It comes from being a teacher and having a passion for what you do DW didn't have either. We have made upgrades to nearly every coaching position and we were winning ten/eleven games a season with much less talent in the coaching dept.

All this smack the Bill fans are belowing is just hot air, there is no way they would have won 9 games last year if everything was the same except our injurys and Ricky quiting. No way!!! They know it. Yet somehow PJ is earned (in their eye's) this status of superhero, and will lead their team to more wins this year then last. As if the fins won't have any say in the matter. Sounds more like wishful thinking to me. No matter, we know what's here, we know who left. We know we were better then 4-12. Bad luck can happen to anyteam, But the odds of all those things going wrong for us two years in a row??? We've got a better chance 15 games this year then having two years back to back like last year.

The Bills don't scare me at all, if anything we will play them better and harder then any team out of the division. So I'd say our chances of winning both Bills games are much better then them beating us twice. And they better hope and pray the injury bug doesn't strike them because most fans here will be relentless in our paybacks. 9-7 :shakeno: ???? I wish they would wait till they reach double digit wins before they talk like they are somthing special.

I guess Saban should have called you when he was trying to get a trade down during the draft. Damn, if only he had known that you had a trade partner all lined up! Tell me, who was the team that was gonna trade again? At least you said it. It was not possible. Your bitterness will die when you see Ronnie prove himself. (I sure hope he does, he has the tools and physical gifts).

I wanted a QB too, but only Alex Smith. BUt then I was happy to see we got Brown, the best choice at that point.

Saban obviously didnt feel like he was getting what he wanted for the #2 pick. Just because these were the circumstances it doesnt mean he didn't have a trade partner. You think YOU know what went on behind the scenes? Please...no one knows. All i said was that they could have traded if they wanted to, and perhaps walked away with Brown and Rodgers. The few picks that led up to Rodgers were either trades for 2nd and or third round picks or seriously talking about it. We could have had him and lost the pick of Roth perhaps...who knows. Saban obviously didnt see enough in the kid to take him...end of story. I'll wait till next year as we all will. Perhaps then( should AJ not take over the team permanently) well get our QB.

Ronnie will be the best back in the league two yrs out. He has every tool and lacks nothing. He's going to be worth every penny they pay him and by November this board will be saying' Ricky who?'

Boy, how did I know that was coming?

No one, in any spectrum of the game, can ever come close to your precious little bills, huh.

You are the best in everything.

...allright, I did NOT want to turn this thread into another Fins/bills fan pi$$ing match, so if you disagree with something, hold it to yourself.

This thread is strictly for Ronnie. Ignore this bills fans.

Really? Do they allow this stupidity on this board? They shouldnt.

So just because that someone is confident about his team it is stupid?

Oh, so this is another example of that "talking football, and not smack" you were speaking of right??

My heart and soul lies with the Bills. I got tired of that BS real quick.

I am here to talk football, not smack about the past.

...And you wonder why we think the way we do of bills fans. :shakeno:

Did you read what He said?

Plus, thats not smack. If you think something I say is stupid and has no facts to back it up, then say it is stupid.

He said the dolphins will win both games because they will play harder. COme on. Thats stupid.

As a group I think those scouting reports were fair and accurate. But what jumped out at me was no one even came close to writing something like "best player in this draft" or "lock to be picked in the top 5." Instead you had stuff like "1st round definitely" and "could be the best back in this draft."

When you identify someone with the 2nd pick, you would like to think there were early and frequent assessments he could be the best player in the draft. Not a come-lately who vaulted up the charts via running around in shorts at the combine.

I think Ronnie Brown will be a very good pro. But I don't believe he will be as good as the typical 2nd pick in the draft. It was subpar at the top of the draft, consensus opinion for months and I believe that will prove out. The reviewers who questioned Brown's balance and lateral moves are isolating the same concerns I had.

If you are one of those who wishes we would have taken Cadillac Williams, or if the enthusiasm of getting Ronnie has worn down a little, read this:

I was playing around on a search engine and I found these pre-draft scouting reviews on Ronnie.

Willis McGahee, your days as the AFC East's most promising back of the future just ended, my friend.
I'm still in.

Please keep in mind some past 2nd picks in the draft turned out to be bigger busts than the first overall pick. If Brown turns out to be a solid pro without any major injuries Miami did well. They needed a RB before they knew Grass Valley was coming back and there really wasn't a can't miss QB in this draft. I know several Auburn fans here in Atlanta and they're take is Tubberville was a fool for not playing Brown over Williams at Auburn so I'll take their word. I'd rather have a Brown type back than Williams who will inevitably be a Warrick Dunn type back. Great Pro player but can you honestly say Dunn is a huge difference maker? Nice in space but can't run it down someones throat to close out a big game when the tough yards really matter. I see Brown as that type of difference making back. 3rd and 2 and if we don't make it we punt and the other team has 1:12 to come back down the field to tie or win. Who do you want with the ball on 3rd and 2 and 10 guys on defense in the box? It has to be Brown over Williams.

Saban has openly stated they tried to trade the pick. Hell many media outlets talked openly about the Dolphins trying to trade the pick. By the way there was a reason Dan Marino dropped. There was a heavy rumor that he was rocking the ganja and that caused him to drop. So perhaps you should heed your own advice on the thinking.

Is there a problem??? I think the fins beat the Bills the year before last, both games. You seem to think your team is better. I don't think many fans here believe that for one minute. Like I said, one avg. season and all of a sudden the Bills can't lose?? I base my opinion on a five year trend you base yours on one 9-7 season and a rookie QB.
