Who's to say that we won't fix all our problems and get to the Playoffs this year?

You know how reactionary everyone is here. When we hired Saban, drafted well and then gott Wicky back we we all talking super bowl! Now we've seen the team in (pre-season) action and are all dissapointed. We'll see what happens when the real deal begins. I hope for the best, but at this time, based on what I've seen from our offensive line and QB's I'm not setting my expectations on going to the playoffs.
Now, if we whup up on the Broncos week 1 I may feel that old "opfinism" return, but for now.....:dunno:

Anything is possible....having said that...teams that do complete turnarounds from losing seasons to great in one year, are not the norm in the nfl, it doesn't happen as often as you think. This team had alot of holes to fill before we can get back to our traditional winning ways, we just have to be patient.

Playoffs? Are you saying the Phins will have ATLEAST 10 wins?
Its possible, but not probable. I know the first wins coming opening day

100%, it comes down to the offensive line. Either Gus Ferotte or AJ Feeley could make the probowl if they were given a godly offensive line. Look, any quarterback at the NFL level can throw an acurate pass and make a decent read, its all a matter of the offensive line giving them time to do so. I am not saying we need a godly offensive line, just one good enough to buy a five second pocket and give the quarterback time to throw or give RxR a hole to run through

Think Rams in 99 went from 3-13 to SuperBowl Champs
Think Panthers in '02? 2-14 to Superbowl
Think Patriots in '00 went from 3-13 to Superbowl Champs.

These are quality QB's, not trying to bash, but AJ and Gus are not on the level that these guys are on. Don't get me wrong, you have one of the best, if not the best defense's in the league, but your O-line needs to be patched up and one of your QB's really has to step up and take a leadership role on the team.

This is not a good arguement because Kurt Warner was a grocery boy. Jake Delhomme was a World league QB and Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick. Ummmmmmmm, I think, as long shot as it may be, that Frerrote could be TEsteverde or flutie if we just had an Oline that could protect, because we for sure have great RB's and WR's (as a group) and TE. It all comes down to the Oline. Period. and execution.

I like how every single Jets, Bills, and Bronco? fan comes here and proclaims we suck. Why is a Broncos fan here? I still don't get why Bills fan come in here, but that's for another time and place.

I hope we kick some ashe this year just to shut all these gomers up. Even if we did, they'd probably still find something smart to say.

Just for the record, I have never said we were going to the Super Bowl. what I have said is that if any team expects to play Miami and get an easy W, they are sadly mistaken.

I didnt come here to say you sucked, i was posting a reply, if you noticed i said that i wasnt bashing you, just giving an honest opinion. These guys are right though, it will start with the O-line, but i don't think that your 2 QB's are the answer for your franchise.

Tom Brady had very mediocre stats in 2001. 2843 yds passing, 18 TDs, 12 Ints. The Pats averaged less than 4 yds per carry. I see no reason why those numbers couldn't be duplicated. It all comes down to the OL (again). The Fins this year have bettern skill players on offense than the Pats had in 2001.

The defense will need to step up (especially early).

I'm one that says we won't make the playoffs this year. I'm not looking at just the talent (or lack there of) of the Dolphins. I'm looking at the talent we have, and comparing it to the talent the Bills, Jets, and Patriots have. Fact is, amongst the 4 teams we're dead last.

I don't think we can or should expect all of our players to be able to completely grasp and execute this new scheme so quickly. Maybe next year we'll see a remarkable turn around. But no, not this year. Not with the way the Jets, Bills, and Pats have played under the same coaches, witht he same players, etc. for much longer then the Dolphins have.

But stranger things have happened.

I didn't mean to imply a superbowl predictioon on your part. And I agree with the easy win part. We didn't make it too easy in most games last year.

Personally (duh) I expect a rough seaon although I think our team will overachieve most people's expectations.
