Who's to say that we won't fix all our problems and get to the Playoffs this year?

I think our D is good enough to be a top 5. However, I think our O is bad enough to be a bottom 5, but I will stick to it, 10-6 in 05' 06', GO PHINS.

I was thinking 10-6 too. If you look back at our losses last year, we only lost two games by more than 10 points. That means if we get things better this year, we can make a run. I think our backs are very capable of running behind a depleted O-line. Check out Ricky in his second year with the Fins. His rushing yards dropped by 500 yards, but that was because every time he got the ball he had defenders in his face immediately. Expect some of the same this year, but good running from Ricky and Ronnie. We'll go 10-6 definitely.

Think Rams in 99 went from 3-13 to SuperBowl Champs
Think Panthers in '02? 2-14 to Superbowl
Think Patriots in '00 went from 3-13 to Superbowl Champs.

Rams-Kurt Warner
Panthers-Jake Delhomme
Patriots-Tom Brady

These are quality QB's, not trying to bash, but AJ and Gus are not on the level that these guys are on. Don't get me wrong, you have one of the best, if not the best defense's in the league, but your O-line needs to be patched up and one of your QB's really has to step up and take a leadership role on the team.

Ok, how about Baltimore with Dilfer. I know their D was the best ever to some.......but Dilfer?

Anything is possible....having said that...teams that do complete turnarounds from losing seasons to great in one year, are not the norm in the nfl, it doesn't happen as often as you think. This team had alot of holes to fill before we can get back to our traditional winning ways, we just have to be patient.

Huh? It's seemed to happen every year except last year since 2000. A losing team from the year before was in the superbowl.

Big turnarounds are actually quite common in the NFL. In the last 10 years, there have been more than a dozen teams that have improved by more than 5 games from one year to the next: 2004 Chargers (8), 2004 Steelers (10), 2004 Falcons (6), 2003 Chiefs (5), 2003 Bengals (6), 2003 Cowboys (5), 2001 Pats (6), 2001 Bears (8), 2000 Broncos (5), 2000 Saints (7), 1999 Rams (9), 1999 Titans (5), 1998 Vikings (6), 1998 Falcons (7), 1997 Jets (8), 1996 Jags (5), etc. Many of these teams did it with QBs nobody had ever heard of the year before (Brady, Warner, Delhomme). Others did it with guys who were no less journeyman than Frerotte or Feeley (Chris Chandler, Jeff Blake, Jon Kitna, Jim Miller, Quincy Carter). Others had quarterbacks that simply performed much better than they had in previous years (Brees, Cunningham, Testaverde).

In the year before their turnarounds, no one thought any of these teams were dominant on either side of the ball. I'm not saying we've seen anythign so far this preseason to suggest such a turnaround, but aren't we a little overdue for a Cinderella season (or at least a season in which the Fins exceed expectations -- when was the last time that happened?)

Good support! Thanks for the stats!!@!!
