Whose name do you want to hear?

I'd be fine with any of the Following at #8 Kuechly , Decastro , Cox , Barron , Ingram.

I'd be ecstatic if we somehow got both Floyd and Weeden tonight (don't think he lasts to our pick in the 2nd)

Tannehill. If not this year, when? I don't expect the Fins to be so miserable next year that they'll be in a position to draft a "can't miss" QB who'll be ready to play in first regular season game. I don't want to sit thru another season of fans hoping the team flops to get a top draft pick and hearing chants ala Suck for Luck. I'm comfortable drafting Tannehill at 8 and letting him sit for a year to learn and get ready to be a starter the following year.

Tannehill, I have to think that the coaching staff had a QB plan in place when they came to Miami. Since they did not take Flynn, then the plan must have been Tannehill. You can not discount they inside knowledge that they have on the kid and we would be ready quicker than we think with Sherman already having been his coach. It will be nice to have a coaching staff that is QB friendly as well, which we have not had in a long time. If they pass on him, then I am good with that as well since they know his stengths/weaknesses. As long as we do not go OL then I am happy!

With the 8th pick the Miami Dolphins select - Michael Floyd (Notre Dame). If this happens I will creme my pants!

I'm not sold on Tannehill one bit. Much prefer Weeden later on in the first/ early second. Would love to hear Kuechly, Barron or maybe Blackmon if he falls that far.

i'd like a late round flier on kyle wilbur 5th round on but for whatever reason i don't think we've paid him any attention...i like tom compton in the 5th on the oline like the fb out of umass like the ellison kid out of usc for our o...i also like the darius reynolds wr from iowa st very late...he fits imo what we want to do and what i saw in green bay

if we pass on bobbie massie at #42 if he gets there i'd watch out for matt mccants in the 4th or so...

None of us know how things will play out. SOMEONE IS getting out of the top 5, if CLEVELAND likes TANNEHILL. T RICH would be the logical choice, since HBs don't have the "value" they once did. But someone will be there at #8 who represents great value-in-fact. It COULD very well be someone else. (BLACKMON comes to mind) If not T RICH, then just plug in the appropriate name. My underlying point is that there will be VALUE at both 8 and (say) 13 or 14, and enough left to trade down as far as 15. If, e.g., DALLAS wanted to get to #8, to lock up a certain S they like a lot before someone else got him, fine! He's going a little early, so by definition, someone else will go a little late. I can't swear to who it'll be, or which teams do what. I would be happy w/COPLES a little later (13 or 14), or T RICH/KUECHLY at #8. If I could get DALLAS's 2nd, then COPLES at 14 would be my preference because we'd have 2 fairly high 2nds and might well get the 2 players I mentioned. But I wouldn't cry if we got either KUECHLY or T RICH, either.

With or without "luckiness", MIAMI could do very well tonight. PLAN A is the trade-down, which i/m/o sees MIAMI get COPLES, MASSIE, IRVIN, GIVENS, one of the MANY other solid WR, and the best G/OLB still available, by the end of the 4th. PLAN B, w/no trade down, is almost as good. Let's assume that it's KUECHLY at #8. Then it's probably IRVIN or maybe CURRY in the 2nd, and C DANSBY moves o/s. The WRs at #s 3 and 3a, as well as the 4th Round pick, would remain the same. IF IRELAND comes thru on any of the "flyers" in Rounds 5 thru 7, it'll be a VERY good performance in the Draft.

P.S.: I like some of your "flyer" choices!!!

i know t rich is not getting out of the top 5...if you don't thats fine but i do...

You think round one has been decided? How long have you been a Fin Fan? When last have we done the conventional, accepted thing with our first round pick?

Yes I do and to answer your second question- most likely longer than you. Nice try making this about something that it's not and thats an Ireland bashing thread

On top of that, the point of my post was lost with you. We've heard over and over again who everyone wants with the first pick. Lets hear what people want with the 2nd round pick, the mid round picks

WR Blackmon with our first pick and QB Weeden with our second pick. Go OL or LB through round 3

I'm not entirely sold on Tannehill, but it's a time to take a risk. It would also show me something about Ireland that I don't believe is in him. I'd be thrilled if Blackmon or Claiborne slipped. Otherwise taking Kuechly would also make me happy. As long as we stay off the line. 3 olinemen taken top 15 in 5 years seems a recipe for failure.
