Here's my story: I'm borne and raise in Mexico and contrary to what most people think we have been watching and playing American Football for more than 50 years. At the late sixties for some reason the games that were in TV always had the Cowboys; so, many of the people over 50 years cheer for Dallas, and, as expected my father dose like the Cowboys. When I was around five or six years old at the mid seventies, my father decide it was time to introduce my brother and I to the NFL. He went to a store to pick up a couple of Cowboys units (helmets, shoulders and uniform) fortunately they didn't have them, so been the 70's they have Steelers and Dolphins kits. He got one of each, wrap them up and place a tag on it randomly, one for each kid, of course I got the Dolphins and my brother the Steelers; I remember not knowing what the hell it was, and asking my father docens of times what the sport was call and the name of the team I got. Since then I became a die hard fan as my brother did for the Steelers, so I was very close to became a Cowboy or a Pittsburg fan.
I have seen both of them win Super Bowls but I'm very proud of my Dolphins and didn't want it any other way, I guess i have to say that THE TEAM CHOOSE ME and I'm glad it did. I watch every game (sunday ticket) and been fortunate enough to watch them play few times live, in NY, Houston, in Miami 4 or 5 times (last year vs. Ravens) and even in Mexico City in preseason against the Broncos. My father till this day still says it was a mistake to buy those uniforms, as he alway want his kids cheering for his team.
I been following this team for almost 40 years, when I cherish every games or news I could get, it's not even posible to change now, not even if I want it (I sure don't). If for some reason my head told me to change teams, my heart won't let me, is something it can't be done rationally; If you could, you are not a fan, you are a supporter, a follower or something like that, but not a fan.
P.S. Of course I got my son a Dolphins unit as soon as I could, He is a fan now.
