Why Are Out Of Towners Still Dolphans?

Why?

Because the Bills just ****ing suck, Jets fans are mainly douche bags and I had no idea New England had fans before Tom go **** yourself Brady played for them.

Had to root for a pisan from steel town!

I'm in NJ and have been a lifelong fan since 1972. The undefeated season, back-to-back SB wins, Larry Csonka, Killer B's, Mercury Morris, Wood-Strock, Don Shula, Dan Marino, and the list goes on. Never gonna stop loving my Dolphins!

I'm one of the few true "native Floridians". Way way way back before video games we had those old football games where you would set up plastic players and the field would Vibrate and sometimes mostly by luck something would happen. They would use the two Super Bowl teams as the teams. That Christmas it was the Dallas Cowboys vs the Miami Dolphins. My cousin Randy had been born in Dallas (his younger brother Kelly was born in Houston) so the die was cast. I admit at age 11 i did not know a lot about football but I started covering the Dolphins then.

And back then they were the only NFL team in Florida. in fact, they were the only anything team in Florida.

We are from Riverview which is south of Tampa so when the Buccs started my dad ..ugh..became a fan of theirs.

And I admit that i semi tried to become a semi fan of the Jag Offs if for no other reason they were now closer and i was also now in their 90 miles area which mean almost all Dolphin games were banned. If fact, even when a Jacksonville station could show a Dolphin game, they would show a 1943 or something movie instead. And if they have drafted Tebow, yes, I would have went to a few games.......

I was a Dolphin season ticket holder for years but since I can only see 2-3 games at most per season, I relied on selling the rest. And in the last couple of years I was not able to sell them. And i simply do not have the extra money to do that anymore.

I've never been a "bandwagon" or 'fair weather" fan and i'm just waiting to see our ratings in this year's Madden because i have the Dolphins locked down in 3 online franchises.

I just wanted to add that I went to the infamous phins-steelers game with the BS fumble call at the end; we took a shuttle back to the hotel after the game. Also on the shuttle were 2 other couples who were all phins fans - one couple was from Montreal and the other was from Albuquerque I think...there was also a father and son on the shuttle and they were from Miami and they were steelers fans...

I'm from the St. Louis area and grew up with both brothers being huge bucs fans. I don't know what happened, but sometime very early (when i was like 4 or 5) I committed to loving the fins and have been a hardcore fan ever since. I don't know how it happened, but since I've been a die hard fan (since about 2000), we haven't done squat. I'm excited about our team every year and I really hope this is the year we finally win a playoff game.

Because the Dolphins hate us so much that while we are still fans they are a garbage team, however the second we leave them to root for someone else (not that I would. If I didnt root for Miami I wouldnt root for anyone-other than whoever plays the Jets that week) they'll win the superbowl. Its a love hate relationship.

Live in Canada. My grandparents went to Miami for winters when I was young. A guy named Marino was drafted when I was 10 and they brought me home a Marino jersey that year. I have been a fan ever since. Will never change. Go Fins

Growing up in Buffalo, I am thankful I am not like the mouth breathers that call themselves Bills fans. My Uncle was a Miami fan growing up and turned me to liking them. I think I was 3 when I got my first Marino jersey. 19 years ago and not only is that jersey still packed away in my attic but I can remember opening that gift. Have loved Miami ever since that day.

My grand parents used to own a condo in pompano when I was a kid. The Marino days, they sold it when I was 12 but the love for the team remained unfortunately... But hey! I doesnt mean its a good thing, I drink and smoke and cant find any sort of logical reason for that either so...

I believe that when you pick a team at a very young age it bonds with you, I´ve been out of miami area for about all my life, being a real fan means that no matter what happens The Dolphins are my team.

Im grew up in Massachusetts (growing up as a fin fan in New England was not easy) and have been living in Soain for last 11 years. Been a fan since 1983, probably be cause of the influencie of my uncle who studied at the U. Or perhaps it was a birth defect. In any event, the fins have become a part of me, like a vital organ. And believe me I've tried a number of times since our glory years to disown the team, considering the joke this franchise has become. It's almost like having a child...there's unconditional love, no matter how bad the relationship can get. Looks like I'm gonna bleed orange and aqua forever. Fins Up!!!!

I've been a fan since 1981. It's too late to turn back now.
