Why are the Miami Dolphins letting Jeff Fisher hold them hostage?

Totally disagree with the article. Totally.

Why the rush to get a coach? No college recruiting going on. What is important is getting the RIGHT GUY. Take some time and figure it out and select the guy that shares the vision of the owner and GM.

Who are we losing in terms of coaching candidates? Mike Mularkey? Relax.

Sorry to the media that it is not happening fast enough for their stories.

It looks like the Dolphins have it together. They've interviewed many candidates, and I believe they know who their top choices are so far. If Fisher doesn't accept, then we'll simply move on.

Of course you do. You continue to push for the .500 coach of the year.

not really being held hostage. He's the first choice, and if he declines we'll go to second choice.

It isn't us taking our time, it is him.

Rather have a coach who wants the job, not someone who has to 'mull' it over for a week.

Also agreed... If we made him a very large offer and will be making him one of the highest paid HC's in the league, and he STILL needs all this time to make a decision!... Well thats not a ringing endorsement that he is even the right guy for the job. Its obvious he isnt sure if he wants to be here so the heck with him already... We need to move on.

we need to just get going is all im saying. which is why i agree with this article. everyone keeps saying we are interveiwing ppl - fine. but the fact is we are on hol until fisher says something. we are interviewing guys but it is for peace of mind for AFTER the fisher search - these guys aren't really being considered and all im saying is we should start giving them a serious look and real chance at getting the job - now. if fisher isnt fully down with us, then we give him some time - if its getting too long we give him a ultimatum. we got another guy we like so what'll it be jeff?

. I think it is an insult to the Dolphins that Jeff Fisher is taking so long to figure out what he wants to do. Evidently he doesn't have his whole heart into the Dolphins team or else he would not need all this time to decide. I think it is pretty pathetic that Ross needs to beg someone to come for the HC position. He is not the only coach available and according to his records he is not superior above everyone else. If he does come to the Dolphins after all the drama that has been created nine times out of ten he is going to be a disappointment to a desperate acting team

I agree with Hayden.
We are not off the initial timetable. This is a big decision. Let the man decide.

Unfortunately Fisher is the only proven HC available on the market.

Zimmer, Chudzinski, Philbin are all unproven at the HC level. They offer no guarantee of success.

If I were the fins I would give Marty Schottenheimer a call.
Billick is not getting looks by us nor by any other team which is telling.
