why are we keeping A.J. Feeley?

When I saw A.J. Feeley in the Chicago game I realized why do we keep this guy, ferrotte could do it this year and Rosenfel and Berlin did much better, so why don't we cut Feeley and save money to sign Ronnie Brown and maybe get a primetime cornerback. what do you think?
I AGREE

First off, we won't save that much by cutting him and second, you need to watch closer...he didn't play that poorly...Ferrotte has proven with every team he has been with that he cannot do the job when the starter...he can fill in for a few games, but breaks down badly when he is the man...Check the teams he's been with...same story every time...

AJ still might be the best QB we have on the roster...it remains to be seen, but he needs to show more when he does get the shots...he could have done better last week, but he didn't get any help from the play calling or the OL play (lack of ability or scheme to pick up the blitzes...)

And add in an o-line that can give him some time.

My only worry about AJ is that I think he gets hurt a lot. A lot of other QBs would have played through that Urlacher hit. But he has shown he has guts, and he does have ability. The key is to get the entire offense working in a way that he can show this ability. I did see some positives in the Bears game... We just need to keep improving, and that's what the preseason is for. I'm excited to see what tonight holds...

LOL Aj went out because he couldnt get his show back on. Did you see him trying to get his show back on and couldnt? By the time he went to the sidelines it was towards the end of teh quarter and Frerrotte was going to come in anyway so he didnt return. The injury had 0 to do with it.

quick answer without reading the thread....

we're keeping him because this year he's a cheap option who has it all to prove.

scenario #1 - he proves it. all hail AJ.

scenario #2 - he doesn't. we cut what would be dead cap.

in short - AJ is here to stay, and he has to prove to all that he's good enough. i hope he does, mainly because it will save us a high draft pick.

:welcome: BTW, I totally disagree. You know, you CAN post twice in one day.

Anyone who thinks that AJ isn't better than Sage or Brock is foolish. Sure, Aj took his lumps last year, but he showed definite improvement. He also showed an ability to do things that neither Sage nor Brock have shown so far. A good example would be his flawless Patriots game, which he led us back to victory and did not turn the ball over. He also has the ability to make great throws, while neither Sage nor Brock have made amazing throws that often. We saw Sage in the Ravens game, he did some nice things but he also did a lot of crappy things too. Aside from his nice throw at the beggining, it wasn't a well-played game.
