Why didn't Cam allow Daunte and Trent battle for the starting QB spot??

Let me say I am not advocating nor am I in agreement with everything McCool is saying about certain phins fans, but I can certainly understand what he is feeling.

He obviously LOVES his phins and does not like it when a player tries to hurt them. Daunte spitefully tried to harm the franchise after he had already ruined an entire season and costs them money and us heartache.

He also cant phathom why people who are supposed to be phins fans take Daunte's side. His problem is he is not realizing that some people say they are fans but, they arent as big of fans as he and I. They are just football fans and like having something to talk about.

Someone who truly loves the phins would not feel sorry for or like Culpepper in any way. Just because someone is a finheaven member dosent make them a "true" fan as people like myself and obviously McCool are. So he is wrong to suggest they are bad people or something along the lines of idiots. They are just not true fans and thats what McCool is failing to realize. Well maybe he does realize that but, not being as big a fan as we are dosent make them stupid.

You and Mccool really need to sit down and think this out. Just because you agree with everything about the team does not make you a bigger fan than anyone else. I have always been a huge Dolphins fan but I am not blind about my team. I truly never care if someone thinks I'm an idiot because they disagree with me, making that kind of assumption about someone that you disagree with is what borders on idiotic. I tell you I have really come to appreciate Don Shula because with the exception of the 1976 season, he always put a good team on the field and I rarely questioned his judgement except maybe draftwise after a while. None of these guys that have lead the team since then have earned the right to go unchecked in thier moves. Until I see results cameron is just another coach who happens to coach my team and he gets no free passes I call them as I see them.

Okay riddle me this Where has Trent Green taken his team. Personally I dont want either guy and cannot wait for Beck but green fans have no more leg to stand on than Culpepper fans.

Gotta admit that prior to his concussion Green was a more consistent QB than DC. In a more structured and disciplined offense that relies less on improvisation, Green is a better choice than DC.

Personally I really think we should have kept Gus and kept the 2nd rounder.
The healthy veteran QB can work wonders for the team. It just works.

That is why Green is here for now. He knows the system and quite frankly brings way more upside to this football team at this point than the falling star we just witnessed. Green knows his role is to win now but he also knows that Beck was drafted to fill his shoes for the future. I know of one QB who was not ready to take on that role. Meaning the inevitable. When Green shines this season and he will, life will be so much better for this football team and its fans. Trust me!

the problem with Gus is we crewed up his contract so he got too much of a bump much like Brian Griese. If we kept Frerotte we probably could have eased culpepper back. The bullcrap about Daunte making them get rid of frerotte is pure manure. No Qb in the NFL is afraid to compete with Frerotte.
The biggest misatke Saban made was not drafting a QB when he brought in Frerotte, Without doing that Frerotte became too much of a long term plan and frerotte really is not who you want as your starter. His completion percentage is garbage. He is okay as a short term solution but the rest of the NFL realizes that Frerotte is pure backup material. He had his best season ever and still did not get a starting offer. If your right about Green fine i will admit Im wrong and be happy but I truly think that Green is done as a good Qb. I hope i'm wrong and hey if I'm wrong it will be good. I personally just want to get beckready for next year so we don't go through the same drama all over again.

Don't worry, you're wrong, and it will be all good.

Cause Culpepper is a washed up bum, I know it, Cam knows it. Most fans know it. No reason to keep paying him. Get over it and quit whining.

Hell the problem with Gus was Nick and his ego. He was feeling at the time he needed to get a name and he reached. The entire experiment failed. Why not keep Gus but Linehan left and there were issues between Saban and Frerotte . Thus we burned the pick. Bad move. At this point bro I totally welcome Trent Green as the starter. I'll take a proven QB for a fiver over a guy on crutches. All day! Every day!

My opinion of course!

The problem I have with his evaluation is that it leaves open the possibility that he could be wrong. As a new coach, it would not hurt him to have two veteran ex pro bowl QBs in open competition this year. Allow the best man to win.

If Daunte goes on and has a few more good seasons in the NFL, Cam's abilities as an evaluator will come into question. Why not shut the door on all of that by allowing Daunte to showcase his weak QB skills against a superior QB like Trent Green...:rolleyes2

Beacuse the job of the coach isn't to placate people. He doesn't care what you or I think. If he did he would have picked Quinn.
Which is exactly the right way to coach. Do you really believe any coach would do otherwise?

Or we could go over the inability of Pep to play in this type of offense, which has already been debated ad nauseum on this board.

Leg to stand on .

Did that strike anyone else as funny?

Now this is really a foolish thing to say. Who made you the judge on what a true fan really is? You have your own definition and others have theirs. Who is to say which is right or wrong? I think it is very narrow minded of you to think that your idea of a true fan gives you the right to label people as less than a fan.
At the end of the day we all want Miami to win games and win the super bowl. I do not feel that I have to be a Culpepper basher in an effort to retain my right to be a Fins fan. That is the height of stupidity.

C-pep style of QB didn't cam's offense, need Trent to teach Beck, Give C-pep a chance to catch on with another team. I'm still not convinced that he is healthy are you?
