Why didnt you just keep Welker?

Welker is a little machine, the guy never drops the ball and can take on any hit.But his fastest days are behind him. He's consistant as hell, but not really a gamebreaker like Ginn.

Scouting report on Ginn:
Ginn appears to be a quality return specialist who can contribute some as a receiver rather than a receiver who can contribute some as a return specialist.

He is very effective on quick slants and screens and tracks the ball well over his head, but with his lack of strength and inability to defeat the press, he will struggle to get a clean release and into his routes at the next level.

He seems hesitant to go over the middle as a receiver, and he tends to lose concentration when he hears a defender's footsteps.

Still, he is an electrifying returner who could bring decent value in multiple-receiver formations, as long as you don't ask Ginn to run lateral routes into a crowd.

If I wanted the better return man I would take Ginn hands down.

If I had to choose between Welker and Ginn at the reciever position I would much rather have Welker.

Patsies seem real confident in Welkers recieving ability..... going out and signing Randy Moss, kelly washington, and donte stallworth.

Welker is all heart, low ability. he has a low cieling .

Ted Ginn runs the 40 in 4.2 seconds.

So did Bethal Johnson :sidelol: 40 time is the single most over rated stat in pro-football, it indicates nothing. Did Jerry Rice ever come close to a sub 4.4???:err: What most Phin fans don't get is that it makes no difference if Gin is a player or not, the fact is the phins needed much more help in other areas and the moronic Front Office let themselves get wowed by the talent of a kick returner. :rolleyes2 Did they forget that they have no QB? Did they forget that their O-line is just plain sucks? Did they forget that you don't serve a child desert, before they have had dinner? I hope Phin fans enjoy Gin's talent while they fight for 6 wins this year.

Welker is good for 6 or 7 yard gains, Ginn can take it to the house every time he touches it.

Welker is never going to be much more than an average player, Ginn has the oppertunity to be very good.

Lets re-word that to reflect a more truthful statement.

Welker was good for 6 or 7 yrd gains while he was in Miami and Ginn has potiential.

Now Welker is going to catch a lot of balls in NE but think about how any defense is going to cover both Moss and Stallworth and still have enough defense left to cover those crossing patterns. He doesn't have to catch deep balls or score a lot, all he has to do is move the chains.

Ginn has potiential...But not a sure thing plus being injuried keeps him out of mini camp. A definate Wait and see here.

BB is going to show us how we "should" have been using him... you guys did good... we did too, with the pick and all, but you got stronger by his acquisition

You have an unusual perception of what would be a more truthful statement . You are correct about Ginn having potetential, but you failed to mention his speed and he possesses more of that than any player on the Patsies. Yeah, the Patsies can send all their receivers out simultaneously, and they all would be difficult to cover. The most important issue you (and all the Patsies, for that matter ) need to address is protecting Brady. Jason Taylor has gotten to Brady in every game he's played and that was before Joey Porter. How is Brady going to complete any passes whining while on his backside in the turf ?

But the 4.38 was with his injured foot. I believe

I'm not sure.

I would much rather have Welker.

What would you rather have? a fast returner who's a good WR that has a very high ceiling?

Why don't you look up other scouting reports on him instead of just that one?

Is it out of laziness or is it because it just suits your arguement better?

Or a No.3 WR thats an average punt/kick returner and will be nothing more.
Granted he's got alot of heart, but he lacks the physical ability to be anything more than an average WR.

I liked Wes, but he was severely overrated by many on this board.

I'm more concerned about the only no.1 WR that the Patriots have and thats Randy Moss.

For all you know, Stallworth will get a suspension for drugs or pull his hammy... again. Say what you want, but I gurantee Welker won't do anything in New England like he did in Miami.

If's and buts mostly which you can play with any team. You can believe what you want but Belichick will use Welker far more than Miami ever did plus he'll have a good QB tossing him the rock.

I don't care if he didn't score at all last year as long as he moves the chains in NE. He's going to be a good replacement for Troy brown another player that didn't put up high TD numbers but always knows how to move the chains.
