Why do so many people think we throw the season if we start Moore?

There is no such thing as garbage time games, these guys are getting paid to play.

I've been watching garbage games for 2 years now if you wanna categorize it.

There is such a thing, he wasn't playing w/ pressure to win for his team. let's look at his time in Carolina and Miami:

2009: Carolina is out of contention, Moore comes in late in the year and leads Carolina to 4-1 record. 79-126, 990 yds, 8 TDs, 0 INTs, 108 rating. Led O to 24.4 PPG
2010: starter week 1, led team to 1-4 record in games he started. 74-133, 822 yds, 5 TDs, 10 INTs, 55.4 rating. Led O to 14 PPG(did not include No game he left early in)

**left NO game early, team was trailing 7-3 when he left

2011 Miami: took over w/ team at 0-3. didn't start at SD but came in w/ game tied at zero. led team to 0-4 losses in that game plus first 3 starts. #s in those 4 games: 68-115, 706 yds, 1 TD, 4 INTs, 65.3 rating. led O to 13.5 PPG
final 9 games w/ team out of it. led team to 6-3 record. 118-192, 1414 yds, 10 TDs, 5 INTs, 90.4 rating.

Ryan played against those same guys and we ineffective.
Your sarcasm is very telling. You have no counter argument when faced with the facts.

Tannehill played against starters, Moore did not. Fact.

based on both there play with the fins during there career.

tannehill has not put together one complete game as a fins qb, even against weak opponents.

at least moore beat up on the weak teams he was supposed to beat.

The team beat multiple playoff teams last year and the Steelers....he gets no credit for the wins from you but all the blame in the losses?

Some people refuse to give up on a bad idea. RT will get benched and replaced. Eventually you will realize that he wasn't the guy.
Call it stubbornness or man crush. Whatever.
I don't care about Tannehill, he deserves to be benched. I'm just telling you Matt Moore isn't answer, plain and simple

You have a point, but these players still have a desire to win.
I think you have the pulse of the team wrong on the final 9 games. Sparano had the same mindset as some of those on this forum regarding RT. Wait and let it improve. Well it didn't. This season will play out the same way.
That team was out of it, and almost made the playoffs. It was an amazing run. After a few wins, we were on a roll and no one took this team lightly....except for the Jets ...who got pasted.
Partisan troll.

No some just think the bolded IS the bad idea.

I think for the first time ever for me, this decision is about winning and securing a playoff birth.

This team... this organization.... these fans.... NEED a playoff birth.

Sticking with Tannehill for the entire season puts the entire regime and every single player's job on the line. If he fails, EVERYTHING fails. It's not just as simple as drafting a new QB or getting a new HC... we will be GUTTED. Every player you love will be gone within 3 years. And we will endure more losing and more over spending and more of everything negative we as a franchise have endured.

We want Philbin to have a "Tom Coughlin" moment in which he changes his way of thinking and makes decisions that are based on what is best for the team.

If Tannehill is not the guy and we bench him in favor of Moore, that buys this entire FO and Staff the opportunity to get us into the playoffs with Moore and protect the continuity and equity we have built in many areas of this franchise.

We have holes, but we have far fewer holes and sources of improvement with Hickey and the players on this roster. Lazor and Coyle are better than most coordinators. Philbin could improve if he would get out of the way and let his players and coaches take charge.

We have a window to continue building what we have. And for those who think it's always the best idea to blow things up and start over.... we've tried that. Until we manufacture equity and assets on and around this team, NO ONE will want to come here.

You need to be more concerned at Philbin's performance during this crisis than Tannehill's. The next 3 - 5 years are being decided right now.

You make some good points.

But didn't Tannehill do the same thing? Led team to 3-3 record in 2012 after team was out of it. When we had a chance at 4-3 he went 0-3
In 2013 went 0-2 with playoff on the line.

So we have given RT 2 chances and Moore 1 with handicapped start.
Some would just like to see Moore get a chance while we still have one

And all that energy will leave just as fast as it came when he throws one of his inevitable pick 6 or bonehead multi pick game. But hey your opinion counts just as much as mine, but I disagree strongly with your "reasons" why we will automatically make the playoffs if Moore gets inserted.
Well I hope he gets the start within the next 2 weeks. I will gladly come back on here and brag like I always do.

lol it kills u that moore is better than ur boy tannehill.

i can sense it in ur posts.

its ok, u will come to grips with the fact that our offense is better with moore than tannehill when the change is made hopefully.

The ****? I want the Dolphins to win games. If Pee Wee Herman was the QB and won I'd be all for it. Tannehill isn't my boy yet I refuse to sit here and act like Matt Moore is head and shoulders better than him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You think we need someone of Peyton Manning's caliber to be better than Ryan Tannehill? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on this website.

You don't need to be Peyton Manning to be better than sucks. If Moore repeats his 87.1 rating from 2011 it would be far superior to what Ryan Tannehill is doing now but still not close to Peyton Manning. It's hilarious to me that the perception is anyone who supports Moore over Tannehill thinks Moore is the savior of the franchise. Reality is they just want to go from crappy QB play to average to slightly above average QB play. It's not far fetched but very hard to understand apparently.

Matt Moore getting Miami to the playoffs wouldn't be consider the franchise savior? Interesting take.

If Matt Moore Somehow gets the start this week, I predict the Dolphins WILL make the playoffs and I will explain why. The offense will be energized when he hits Mike Wallace on that first deep pass. The players will show up to practice with the kind of enthusiasm that winning teams have and will take that swagger and confidence to the games. In another 3 weeks or so Moreno will be back along with Pouncey. You WILL NOT see as many sacks (aka negative plays) because Moore can get rid of the ball faster. Because Moore is a better downfield thrower, the team will get into the red zone a lot more thus you will see more points on the board. Anybody want to argue with that? Notice I am not saying Moore is Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Rivers, Big Ben, or even Joe Flacco. What Moore will provide is more energy throughout the entire team which goes a very long way.

and when his 2nd pass is a pick 6 the players won't show up to practice with all this enthusiasm you predict?

Are you seriously predicting such a ridiculous future to try to get in the conversation? This is grasping at straws at it's best. RT is not playing well.....but it's absolute insanity to come on here and have people clamoring for Moore and how he gives us 2-3 wins....because he throws a better deep ball. Our season is NOT going to turn around based on the success of the lowest percentage pass in the NFL. It is beyond ignorant to place a QB in a starting role due to his better deep ball, when he has far more deficiencies than your starter who struggles with the deep ball, to only ONE of his receivers.

The answer to this conundrum is so simple. Benching Tannehill in favor of Moore will NOT win us a Super Bowl and will just wreck our draft position. Plain and simple. Give him the rest of the year to see if he can turn it around. If he doesn't, he and Philbin are gone and we can start fresh with a high draft pick and a new coach.
