Pot kills just like alcohol does. In accidents, and in health. Pot has a much higher concentration of THC's than tobacco does...THC's are what cause lung cancer. Is it less addictive than alcohol? Maybe, although even that is debatable. It is always easy to tell who are pot users, because they go on these tirades about how it should be legalized and how it isn't harmful, which actually makes them appear to be addicted. The passion they exhibit in defense of the habit and the denial of its harmful effects are two classic signs of addiction.
Again, if you want to smoke pot, that's up to you, just stay off of the road and out of my face about it. Waging some PR campaign to justify your addiction and hide the detriments of marijuanna use isn't fooling anyone. It is illegal...if you don't like it, move to Amsterdam :shakeno:
Ricky didnt quit to smoke weed either. If you may recall they said he gave up drugs along time ago, he wanted to get away from all the pressure. He was a spectacular player in highschool and college, he had pressure on him practically his whole life. Then when Wanny, his coaching staff, the offensive line, and Rick Spielman came in and expected him to be the workhorse and carry the ball 100 times a game (sarcasism) he couldnt take it anymore and had to get away from everything for a little while.nick1 said:

But ultimately, Ricky's primary responsibility is to himself, just like each and every one of us is responsible to ourselves.
Ricky made a choice, he later realized it wasn't the right choice, and now he's back. Maybe he's legitimately sorry / regretful, maybe he's not. Big deal either way. He doesn't need the fans to trust him, all he needs to do is show up, tote the rock, and score TDs.

That's one way to look at it. Another is to suggest that sovereign individuals have certain natural, inalienable rights, and that those rights include the right to decide what to put in their bodies. The government (Federal, State, Local, whatever) has no inate dominion or authority over an of us. All "We The People" have to do is refuse to acknowledge their authority to limit our rights, and we can take back the Freedoms that have been slowly stolen away from us over the last 200+ years.

all i can say is by your words, you have obviously never smoked it. i on the other hand have smoked pot and drank beer on a consistent level since i was 16. i have been surrounded by people who are likeful minded people. that's why i moved to humboldt. where i live, there is very little crime, the only accidents are caused by drinking, and there are very dedicated stoners trying to reverse global asshats. i have never been in a car accident that was my fault and i am a college graduate. if anything pot makes u a better driver and much more cautious. sober people get in accidents everyday but u don't say anything about that. the times i have almost been in accidents were when i was driving way too fast. and that rarely happens when i smoke because i'm too mellow too worry about being someone at a certain time. when i get there is when i get there. and i seriously doubt experienced river guides got people drowned because they were stoned. and if they did it was because it was one of the 1st times they ever smoked. before u denounce something as bad, try it. and don't tell me u tried it when u were 15 and ate a bunch of food and passed out laughing.
and one of the things i like about america is that you can protest something w/ out being arrested and being sent to amsterdam. but who knows how long that last as long as the government keeps on thinking they know what is right for everybody. let me smoke my pot in peace and i won't bother u w/ my pr.
and i'm sure that cigarettes don't have thc which is strickly in pot. surgeon general reports that cancer and smoking pot don't go hand in hand. cigarettes are killers where homegrown isn't. saying that, if marlboro grew pot w/ all the additives they put in the cigs, it would probably become cancerous.

These things are true, but the question with him is twofold...
a) Can he get back into playing shape and avoid injuries...he didn't just take a year off, he took a year off from his football conditioning...that is a big difference from a guy coming off IR for the previous year....being in yoga shape and football shape are entirely different things...
b) How long will his head be back into football ?? That is the burning question that all of us, the Fins organization, the NFL and his teammates really have. He has quit once, will he quit again and how long will it be ?? Will he get an injury and lose his football heart to rehab himself ?? Will he just decide to go smoke dope in Austrailia again ?? Only time will tell, and with his age, I doubt that he'll reach the pinnacle, or elite athlete status that he was at before leaving last year...
