why do you guys think Ricky wont do very good.

Actually, Ricky quit because he was afraid of facing his third violation of the league's substance abuse policy for smoking weed. I'm not guessing here, this is exactly what he said during his 60 Minutes interview.
Jeeez people learn to forgive!!! He made a mistake but that wasnt the reason why he quit, there is more than just one reason, yeah he was afraid of what the fans and the media would say if they found out. That wasnt the only reason, he was tired of taking a pounding each year just for a coach and staff that sucked and needed him to make them look better. He took a beating since the beginning of highschool and needed a break, yeah the timing wasnt the best in the world but him taking a break for a year helped us. I would personally get tired of Wanny, the media making little stories of one off Rickys mistakes into a huge headline, and the offensive line that was going to be blocking for him in 04.

If everybody just "respected the law of the land" the United States would still be a British Colony, and we'd all be drinking overpriced tea for breakfast. Screw that, the "law of the land" deserves no respect, because no man has authority to subject another man to laws, rules, or restrictions, unless the subject of those rules accepts them willingly.

Remember, governments have NO POWER, NO AUTHORITY, NOTHING, except for what "We The People" **allow** them to have.

anarchist?

so if a citizen disagrees with the law that prohibits murder then its OK for him to kill his neighbor?

As a society "We the People" gave our leaders the right to make and enforce laws, ranging from laws against double parking to laws against theft or murder. Somewhere in between is the law against possessing and smoking marijuana. Maybe it shouldnt be prohibited, maybe it should. But the fact is that legislators that were elected by the people to represent the people's interests created these laws. If you dont like the law then support a representative that will fight to get it overturned. If enough people convince their representatives to do the same (or elect new ones that are like-minded) then you will be successful. Until then, however, you will be subjected to the laws, rules, and restrictions whether you choose to accept them willingly or not.

Ricky admitted to still smoking weed this past december. He smoked before and after he quit.....NOT "a long time ago"
That was seven months ago!!!! To me thats a long time. Do you think he would have agreed to so many random drug tests a month if he was still going to smoke. Get real. Yeah he made a bad mistake about leaving the NFL after the draft and before trainingcamp but everybody makes mistakes and now that he is trying to fix it why wont you give him another chance.

Oh yeah one bad year thats over now, throw a hissyfit, but thanks to him we have a great draft class, a great coach, a great staff, and hes back. Yeah thats really awful.

we the people get a grand total of 2 choices to vote for as president. every year they come from the same rich families who don't give a crap about the people. our senate leaders are the ones who have enough money to get their mugs on television enough so those who don't know enough vote for them. most of us have no idea what goes on behind close doors. a lot of people just vote according to the if they are rep/dem. it is not so simple as to say, let's vote them out. there has been a power structure set up in government/military/cia/supreme court that would take years to break down. they flat out lie to us all the time, using scare tactics to get the people to do whatever they want. i like the quote from someone on this site about the german war criminal guy who said. "if u scare the people, then question their patriotism u can pretty much get them to do whatever u want." i'm sure that's not exactly it but it's a good point.

the reason weed is bad is because while you taking it and while your "high" you can do things like kill somebody and not remember. It also affects your judgement like when driving. It's good if you need it for medical reasons and when your not doing anything. but you can also become addicted to it and when your addicted you will do anything to get whatever your addicted to. back to the topic... Ricky has false intentions, he wants to play football only for the money and to get out of debt. He may be a good player but I think he will quit on us a any time because his heart is not in football.

ALL OF THESE PLAYERS PLAY FOR THE MONEY. Don't be gullible and think otherwise. Do you realistically think that these men would go through the physical pain everyday, the traveling and being away from thier families, for the love of the game> IF so sir you are smoking weed

Past his prime? he's 28 when did that become past your prime? I thought that was in your prime
a RB's prime is around his 5th or 6th year

then why do players like Zach Thomas take pay cuts for the best of the team?

They don't take pay cuts the money is just redistributed across the contract to ease cap strains in that current year. No players actuall says I am to make 50 mil this year but pay me 40 for the better good of the team. Would you?

What year is this for ricky, and how many full seasons has he played? I know he didn't play many games in NO due to injuries and he only played 2 years here.

Ricky played 3yrs in NO, 2yrs in Miami. This will be his 6th year.(not counting any of 2004)

He has played 70 games.

that's not true, i have seen numerous usa today polls and other national polls that say over 50-75 percent of americans think that it should be used for medical problems. and a lot of polls that think marijuana should be legalized in at least some capacity. even people who don't smoke are getting tired of a war on pot that is getting no where except throwing a lot of people in jail.

it's sad but there have been many examples of peaceful potheads spending more time in jail then rapists. this dude in arkansas got something like 75 years in jail for growing 2 plants at his house. this was like 15 years ago but it's still ubsurd.
