Nothing to be confused about. I was commenting on his ability as a QB to move the team and put points on the board. In that context he did nothing special. They went 5-1 because of their defense. He threw 6 tds and 6 ints during those games. .
Second, his rating last year was a 61 with I can't remember how many td's returned for touchdowns. Why is it that Patrick Ramsey, for example, or Carson Palmer who have less experience in terms of years in the NFL performed so much better. They did not have great offenses.
But lets forget about all that because the real issue here is that what we say, obviously, means nothing. The real answer is in the following facts:
The people whos opinion matters, the players and coaches, overwhelmingly do not support Feeley. They are the ones who practice with him and/or evaluate him. Confidence in your QB comes from seeing him perform in practice and in games, two things Feeley has not done. So unless he has a mighty turn around (which I hope he does but does not seem likely) he will have been a waste of a second round pick. He just has not been, to date, even an average starting QB. His carreer rating is 67 for 18 games.
