Why don't Phins pursue Maurice Jones-Drew

Even if MJD runs for 4 tds and 200 yards in a game as a Fin it means nothing in today's NFL.Pats 42 - Fins 28 because Welker and Gronk Go off.

This is a passing league now, RBs mean nothing.

OK but I don't want to hear all of you crying when you see MJD in a Patriot's uniform in a month or two. You know Bellicheat will do it and the Phin's will be left holding the bag as usual, and wondering why the Patriots always continue playing for Superbowls, while the Phins wallow in mediocrity. I know an older RB with a lot of mileage on the tires is not our biggest need, but the Phins are never willing to improve. If not MJD, then Ireland should at least talk to the Steelers about working a deal for Mike Wallace....despite the "No Trade" policy the Steeler's apparently have. We got a couple of gimpy receivers in Bess and Hartline. I just don't see us putting up a lot of yards/points minus Marshall. Just being real here and not slurping the aqua koolaid like some of you are.

The fact that you first act like New england will be making a huge move for MJD and then say "Sorry for being real" is... certainly ironic.

Well, we traded up in the draft last year and took a running back in the second round. This year we drafted another RB that plenty of people on this board think is going to be a superstar. Then we have Reggie Bush who exceeded expectations in 2011. The last thing we need to do is devote more resources to acquiring yet another RB who's past his prime and wants to get PAID! And we certainly don't need to be giving up draft picks to Jacksonville for the privilege of being the ones to overpay for MJD.
