Why is everyone complaining???

Id like to ask saints fans if they wish there front office had been more frugal in the saints case....colstons case...theres a case to be made for making moves the splash with a qb or Wr signing... i cant think of one team in the playoffs in recent memory with an array if merely average wide receivers and a mediocre quarterback...

Colston was their guy they didnt grab him from another team thats not a splash its a guy thats been brought up through their system and a beast big diff my friend???? And the 2000 Ravens had horrible qb and no recievers they did have shannon sharpe at TE but thats it!

I think the NFL has changed some in 12 years....became a bit more of a passing league if you watch football.

By the way, I think they had a pretty good running game with that shut down def...

Please come up with something else Mr Ireland

When we are 2 - 14 next year it will be a moot point; Ross will have no choice but to FIREland and if we're lucky, he sells the team too.

Well Mr Clueless the point is they didnt go out and over spend to make a splash like every on here always wants they kept their guy they drafted in the 7th round cause he fit their system and invested big money cause he deserved!! Another team thats continuously built through the draft and been extremely sucessful.... Also, the example was show me a team that had an array of average recievers and mediocre qb in the playoffs and that would be the 2000 Ravens who won the superbowl nonetheless again you guys are clueless just delete your acct please!!.....Do you watch football??? or are you another one of those madden GMs

Take your meds loser....

So the new QB we will find without WRs....then we get the WRs...then playoffs. Sounds ridiculous

Successful teams use FA and Draft....they dont just dump good players and say draft

By the way....why would I want to give Ireland ANOTHER year?

Didn't the Steelers just do that with Santonio Holmes?

The Dolphins were just fed up with Marshall. He has a suspension hanging over his head and he's just not a good teammate. He would complain when another wr was open but whoever was playing QB didn't get him the ball. He was always throwing his QB under the bus. Right or wrong, you don't do that. He was a me first player and i'm pretty sure Miami new they were most likely heading into next season with a young QB and didn't want that ass messing with him.

Also, Marshall is not a good fit for a WCO. You need to have strong hands, make quick reads and run good routes. Marshall has never had the best hands and he himself admits to being a poor route runner.

i understand the fallout of not getting peyton manning, but lets be realistic, as soon as the broncos came in for peyton, they were instantly the front runners. Manning has ties to both elway & fox, they have a an o'line in place, strong running game, 2 very good wr's and a playmaking d.

The next qb was flynn. We all stated that we have the best two people in philbin & sherman in deciding whether to sign flynn or draft tannehill. If philbin wanted flynn we could have had him! Obviously he did not.

Alex smith is rumoured to want a 4yr $40m contract. Next.

We all wanted peyton, even after a yr of with injury. Take a step back and then wonder why ireland is being slated for signing david gerrard to a low 1 yr contract. In his last year with the jags, with no wr he posted a qbr of 90.8. I also believe signing gerrard dispels the myth of us trading for tebow.

When you consider all 4 qb's and the fact we missed on peyton, in my mind we made the smartest move of all. We have genuine competition at qb, without the risk of a big contract.

We have re-signed paul soliai, to a cap friendly contract, released who most wanted to in carey, columbo & y.bell. Made two smart signings in richard marshall, who can play as a genuine cover fs/nickel cb, with reshard jones at ss and artis hicks has only been brought in for depth but can play ot/og and again only on a 1yr contract.

Brandon marshall was traded after every offseason criticising our qb and again after negative publicity and a possible suspension hanging over his head.

We all wanted to follow the gb/steeler philiosophy of buiding through draft, but when it finally seems to, possibly be occuring, most go nuts over the furore of free agency.

I for one (maybe the only 1 lol), believe we have been smart through this process and am looking forward to it continuing with draft!

wow. Just wow

Last I checked, they had very good WRs on the roster after they were rid of Holmes. He was a more a luxury.

Bush threw the entire team under the bus, he's still here....Marshall just said something the FO and fanbase has been screaming for years..He wanted a better QB, and supposedly, the FO was in search of one at the time.

Think he wouldv'e been a problem for a new QB? Just wait until he sees a problem of nobody to throw to.

I keep hearing how we don't need a #1 WR in Philbins system....but he has a WR core where is #3 WR is better than our #1 right now and a great pass catching TE. Oh and Aaron as QB.

I SWER SOME PEOPLE its getting pitiful on and off the field when people cant see whats going on , ive been a fan since bk b 4 Marino was QB and never have i seen this team in this bad a shape theres alot on here that need to open there eyes and understand that the draft isnt going to help us on our most need , and thats QB not only that ireland is so damn incompetent he dosent have a clue , just like so many on here ,that want avrage......[h=3][/h]

Brandon Marshall continually threw his QB under the bus and is teetering on the edge of a suspension. Dont get me wrong losing Marshall makes us worse.......short term, but, with a new coaching staff the only way to success is to build the pieces they want, not what the previous regime wanted. This will take time but im delighted Ireland has not splashed out in FA but to wheel and deal and build through draft.

Many have slated Ireland, but have listed years of frustration as the reason. This is not Irelands fault. You can only judge him on what he has done since Parcells left. They say a successful draft is one where you have 3 potential starters. We have potentially 4. Pouncey, Thomas, Clay & Jimmy Wilson. We only had 6 picks! We also signed through FA, Burnett, Columbo, Matt Moore and swapped, yes swapped 6's for Reggie Bush. Granted Columbo was awful, but Sparano wanted him, so Ireland got him.....cheap and short term.

So all in all, on the one year Ireland has had sole control, he has brought in Matt Moore, Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, Charles Clay, Pouncey, Jimmy Wilson & Kevin Burnett. If he can again get 4 potential starters in draft, with 3 starters in FA/trade, I for one will be delighted.

We are all right with hindsight.........was you one of the one's clamouring for Kyle Orton last year?

Simple fact is we lost out on Manning, so did many other teams. Philbin did not want Flynn as much as Carroll did. Smith was not worth the money.

I posted who to keep out of Langford & Soliai and most wanted Soliai.......and we kept him.

There was also a post about cutting Bell and most wanted him out and replaced with a coverage FS allowing Jones to slide to strong.....he is gone and Richard Marshall is in.

What else could Ireland have done that the majority would not have?

Forgot about Ginn & Cameron, we are 2012. We can only judge Ireland since last year, after Parcells left. He had a solid draft and brought in Matt Moore & Kevin Burnett.. He has said himself there are many places still to fill, but we are only in March!
The nice thing with a message board is that it saves all comments and has a handy dandy search feature. So go ahead and go back to last year when I was saying the same exact thing. And no, I wasn't clamoring for Orton, but if we signed him, I'm willing to bet you'd have a thread up saying how it was a savvy move, because in your eyes, this organization can do no wrong.

But awesome job Ireland, you brought in a very good backup QB that turned out, unintentionally, to be better than the guy you decided to let start again (by not drafting a QB or bringing in any actual competition) and a LB that didn't contribute anything until the season was damn near over. The one good move he made that he actually meant to make was Bush. Everything else has been reactive signings and fixing holes that HE created in the first place (Pouncey, Bush, and now we need a WR). Further, nobody wants to play here because of this front office. You can brush it off as sour grapes if you want, but this wasn't the first we heard about this. Where there's smoke, there's clearly fire in this case.

Ireland blows.
