Why is everyone so hard on MIA???

It's worse. The secondary is worse. The d-line is worse. We haven't had any big upgrades at o-line or QB.

I think in order for us to take 2 steps forward we need to take a step back. And that is what we are doing this year.

I don't buy into the fact that because our o-line got 1 full year of experience they are now automatically better. Experience is nice, but if you stink you stink. And some guys on our o-line just stink. Example is Seth McKinney. Nice player, but he has been around a few years now and what you see is what you get. No coach will turn him into a pro bowl great center. He is what he is. An average to below average center. All the expereince in the world won't change that. Some guys will improve and get better sure, but to just say they will be better because they have a year under their belt is just being a blind homer who is wishing and hoping.

Actually.......you make sense here. I don't share the mindless optimism.
Hope, but not optimism.

Hope, but not optimism.

It is not blind homerism to say our roster is better than last year's.

In fact, I think it's stubborn pessimism to say wer'e worse.

Now, are we going 12-4? No.
But we're not going 4-12 again, and it's stupid to say our roster is worse.

I don't say that we will be worse, and I don't say that our roster is worse. I'm just having a hard time seeing anything that makes me believe we will be much better this year.
O-line and QB are both very suspect, and that is NOT a good sign.

this is strange because when the steelers, cowboys, and other teams the media doesn't take cheap shots at them hell , look at the 49ers they are worse than we are and they get all kinds of good press. the media really hates the dolphins , but its probally because dolphin fans dont raise hell with them the way other teams do.

hey aqua where the hell have you been your buddy mercury said you became a broadway stagehand and you became a jets fan ? dont worry he is in jail again so he got what he deserved .
just for the record merc and I went to high school together and we raised a lot of hell .

.

why are some of you guys so sensitive to bad press? Who cares!

Does good press help you sleep at night or something? So what if they think we suck. Games still gotta be played.

And where is the cheap shots taken at Miami? Seriously, now cheap shots? Where????????????????

The Bills don't exactly get any props from the media either. And they don't deserve it anymore than the Finns do! Neither has proven much of anything for the past couple years. They both need to earn the respect back.

I just cant understand why everyone in the US is so down on the Dolphins, saying that we are gonna go 3-13 or whatever this year. I am a bartender in CA so I do get to talk to a lot of unbiased football fans towards MIA in my area. I just break down the following upgrades from last year, a year when we went 4-12.........

1. Nick Saban replacing Dave Wandstadt
2. Hudson Houck our new OL Coach. One of the most renowned men in the game.
3. Scott Linehan as our new O Coordinator.

Because of the fact that we were in a lot of the games last year late into the third quarter, I think that the coaching upgrades alone will bring our win total up from last year.

Two of our draft picks, Roth and Crowder, at one time, close to the draft, were considered mid to late first rounders.
The addition of Stockar McDougal and Vernon Carey seemingly turning his mindset around will make the production of our o-line better(cant get any worse than it was).
Boston taking it easy through training camp and just having to be a #3(if he stays healthy) is one of the best wide reciever trios in the game today.
When Ricky was around, everyone was on our bandwagon as a SB contender. Well now we have Ricky back, at a different role, with Ronnie Brown leading.

Sorry for rambling, but I see us at at least 8-8 this year!!!!

well, no fan of another team is willing to admit huge offseason upgrade. when it comes to other teams, we ourselves don't want to admit quick climbs up the power ranking boards until we see evidence of it yet. "the chargers better than 10 wins? get out of here." and i guess it takes too much brain power to say that if we win more games in our division this year, that some other team(s) in the division and/or conference will have to lose more games. and no one in the media wants to go out on a limb to say that the patriots will suffer even if it's a little. and it's easier for them to say we'll stay at about even then to insist that the bills or jets might lose a little ground.

What's ironic is that some you would expect the writers and the doubters to understand your theory, but you're not open-minded enough to understand theirs.

Don't put so much importance on pre-season write-ups of our team. It's pointless.
