Why is Ireland linked to the coaches failures ?

Signing players is the easiest thing a GM has to do. Does it take a genius to sign productive players? Not at all, but it comes with a high price tag, whereas drafting players that become stars, solid contributors and position depth is where a GM shines. Ireland has done none of that and when he has, they are traded away or let go for nothing. He has definitely drafted some decent players but for the most part it's an atrocity.
 
Ireland should be fired for the simple fact he traded up for a LB that barely plays DE now!! #3 overall people. This draft was quite possibly the worst in franchise history. Who's contributing? Sturgis ? Don't make me laugh.....

The may not have been a strength, but they sure as hell were better than what we have now. Dansby is having a career year, while Wheeler sucks. So, we have had a massive downgrade at LB.

And "NO", LB was not the weakest unit. The OL was...duh...
 
It is hard to argue about the "sky being blue"...if you think these LB are as good as what we had...you just keep seeing the sky as pink...

Eh. Itsmateo was saying that he'd pit Ireland's draft record against any other gms the past few years. Tough to have a convo with someone who actually believes that.
 
A plethora of picks we bring the entire staff to the combine and our only impact player so far is a freaking kicker! We trade up to number 3 for a situational player that needs development? The number 3 pick should start and make a impact! Then we draft 2 corners that can't see playing time over Nolan Carroll? Finally Dallas Thomas that doesn't even belong on the roster! Our prize second round pick is Kia Misi whose hardest hit to day was a door! Yeah but it's not Jefflon's fault!

This is some of the nonsense excuses I cant stand. Ireland is not good at ANYTHING as a GM.

The coaching staff are the ones being careful with Jordan. I don't think it's his doing that he isn't playing all the time.

Yeah right . . . 2013 Miami Dolphins, paper champions yet again. Meanwhile, in the real world, still flailing away in mediocrity. Just because you had projected them to be better than the Pats doesn't mean they were going to be. It just points out the glaring deficiency in your prognosticating skills.

Progress in three areas....downgrade in three...dl is the same...still not making progress...Overall talent level is down...
 
It's a common truth that problems in any organization start at the top and work down. Ross needs to choose the right GM. That guy needs to do his job well, Ireland is weak. A good GM not only gets good talent on board he controls the personality of the team through his and his coach's behavior.
 
All you need to do is remind yourself that Irelsnd traded up for Daniel Thomas to wonder why he sucks.
