Why no QB roll-out, pass/option, bootlegs, etc? SHERMAN SUCKS!

Why would we go in with such a vanilla game-plan on offense?

Why not put in plays that take our QB away from the Bill's strength (their pass-rush)?

T-hill was in the pocket pretty much all game... getting pressured and/or sacked.

Seriously, is Mike Sherman this big of an idiot, lacking completely in imagination and utterly unable to anticipate things?

Please... PLEAZE... dear God... let Mike Sherman's pasty fat sorry ass get sh*t canned as it deserves.

I... HATE... Mike Sherman's offense.

IF ya watched the game, where the hell was RT supposed to roll out and run to? He had pressure to the left, pressure to the right, and pressure up the middle.

You make a great point....the pressure from all sides was there all day! However, the most commonly used strategy for slowing down an aggressive pass rush is the screen play, draw plays and the read option.....and we didn't even try most of those all day. I did notice they kept two backs in the backfield for part of the 2nd half.....but that still wasn't enough.

Did you see that these options were not there? Not even close. Watch the replay. We keep the RB's in to block because the OL is a mess, in spite of what some have thought in the last few games.

Thank you for your astute observation and contribution to the conversation, pendejo.

YES - I saw the game... and my contention is that for all the problems along the offensive line we could have at least TRIED to mix things up a bit. Mike Sherman has a really hard time with mixing things up a bit... in case you haven't noticed.

Lastly, for those arguing that rolling the QB out to buy time to find an open receiver against a great pass rush isn't a legitimate strategy (and one that often works)... perhaps you missed this one November game on Monday night in 1985 against the Bears... again, I say... pendejo... thank you for your astute contribution to the thread.

Southbeach I rarely call out a coach or game plan but are you really happy with those plays on offense today? Like I said in the game day thread it may or may not have helped but not to even try? I don't understand it.

While I don't agree with southbeach2's viewpoint at all, using a single game that occurred 25+ years ago as your argument is stupid.

THANK YOU... it's the fact that NO ATTEMPT was made at trying something else that has people upset. No sure why that is so hard for some people to understand.

I don't like seeing my team lose... but I can accept a loss where the team went out "swinging for the fences", giving it all they've got, etc, etc... pick your favorite cliche. What MOST of us saw out there today... that was garbage play-calling. Period.

Sherman has been consistently bad with his playcalling this season. Even in some of our wins, the offensive playcalling has been awful.

No....can't agree with you on this. No question that the O-line was a disaster today, but you would think we would have tried the screen game which should have been effective based on the Bills D-line pushing so aggressively up the field. I don't know if it would have helped or not......but I would have thought we would have tried it to see.

So since 1985 you've not seen another single game where an OC deliberately had their QB rollout on more plays than the norm in order to evade a particularly good defensive front 7?

Uuuuuuuuh... yeah. Look, because I chose a FAMOUS example which is dear to the hearts of all Dolphin fans to make a point doesn't give you grounds for suggesting my example was stupid. It's your RIGHT, for sure... but you have NO GROUNDS. It's a Dolphins forum and a good example to use that we can all immediately relate to and remember... but, hey, maybe it would've been better to reference a game from earlier this year between Kansas City and Denver... or Seattle and Phoenix... or... never mind. Another pendejo looking to start things for the sake of being argumentative. No wonder so many people drop off this forum. It's polluted.

Yes, Sherman is THAT bad. I used to be a big fan of his at A&M as he re-built a solid program. THEN, once he had the foundation built, I realized how completely inept he was at managing games, choosing his starters, etc....

How he has been able to hang on this long in the NFL is confounding.

De nada, cabron baboso. (for those not familiar with Spanish, just replying in kind to childish name calling)

I have seen Sherman roll RT out, as well as run him. My guess is that he did so because he thought it would work. What experience do you have baboso in NFL O's, or college, or high school, or pop warner?

Name calling, regardless the language, is foolish. Care to try in French?

No, I am not but, in watching the reply, don't have better options. Better weather may have changed that. Buff was all over the pocket, and I don't see any roll out having helped, and RB's had trouble getting to a block, let alone releasing to a screen. JMO
