Does your qb have to be a 1st rounder?highly touted free agent?Or can they be the right guy at the right time and actually has an consistent chance to succeed? Why not just improve the team to a point where we are like the 49ers..Alex smith isn't the most explosive, but they're team looks somewhat similar to ours..besides the great tight end and a few defensive pieces that we are lacking.free safety and another pass rusher.what I'm saying is,he isn't a horrible qb and with the full reigns in the offseason/training camp..why not? If you can't get peyton manning.Realistically, who are your choices to lead the squad? Maybe Flynn but yet unproven even with the huge game.I believe with the decent schedule we have, another solid draft, add a few pieces in free agency and a full offseason.why can't we have a 49ers or broncos turn around?get to the playoffs at least? We aren't completely void of talent and if the new coach is half way decent, why not us?we have such a negative outlook on all of our qbs and team (which is understandable) but Matt Moore has done nothing but played the best any qb could have under the circumstances.this team is close...just my opinion, but I think this guy can at least hold the reins of this team till we find the right guy,not force a guy in here just to have a "qb"

Well said. I would not mind seeing us grab RG3 (will cost our draft though) but I have been saying all along that Matt Moore, with the right HC/QB coach, can come into his own. Like you said, we only need to look as far as the 49ers games yesterday and watch Alex Smith. I would try and grab Blackmon in the 1st round and then find a pass rusher / TE in next few rounds.. filling rest of the holes in FA...Just my two cents

I enjoy mediocre seasons.

So please elaborate a little here. Trade rest of our draft and next years as well to secure RG3 (we are not sniffing Luck) and "viola"... We are instant contenders next year without adddressing the rest of the numerous holes we have with TE/pass rusher/RG, etc... ??

Did you even watch the last 9 games of this past year?

Comical...

Something's comical alright

KLoud - Moore has amazing hands not unlike John Beck - Henne is still the better player - so why not just put Henne back in there then

Miami needs a game changer at quarterback. Not a game manager. We need someone who will keep us in it to the last second.

Personally I think we should keep both of them. Look at what Alex Smith was able to do with a good coach who believed in his ability. I realize its a stretch but Henne does have the intangibles to be a solid starter and has shown flashes. I believe the combination of Sparano and Henning killed his confidence and stunted his development. I crack up when I see stories about how Sparano is going to start from Scratch with Sanchez, that to me is hilarious as he couldn't figure out how to make a milkshake let a lone develop a QB. His claim to fame is one season as a Ground game coordinator, big deal!!!

Under Dabol while not the best OC your ever going to see you saw that he gave Henne a little confidence and did the same for Moore and they both played fairly, Moore, more so than Henne but a lot of his success can be attributed to the Defense finally pulling things together which allowed him the luxury of playing with a lead, when forced to play from behind you saw that there really wasn't much of a difference between him and Henne.

If it were me, I would resign Henne to a cheap contract, if he'll accept it, keep Moore, Devlin and draft a QB. A little competition never hurt anyone and if you draft someone like Kellen Moore, Tanneyhill or Weeden then they should have a pretty decent group of players who can excel. I don't think they should trade everyone to move up to for RG III or an QB for that matter as we have needs at OL, LB, S and TE that need to be addressed. I like RG III but do think he's going to struggle in the pro's, he reminds me of Freemen from TB. Nice Athlete but needs to play faster at times to match the speed of the NFL game.

Moore has been too inconsistent to make me feel comfortable building around him. certainly a competent stop-gap or back-up for now though

Did you see Patriots amnd Saints games yesterday? The Saints defense is trash and so is the Patriots defense, but both of those teams made it to the divisional round because they have superstar QBs who can put the game on their backs. Saints were leading with under a minute to play, and the Patriots completely stomped the Broncos. Nobody could have stopped them last night.

Matt Moore isn't a guy who can do that. He's a nice stopgap, but we need to keep searching for a guy who can play like that.

Moore is a very good QB. He has the same skills as Joe Montana. I am not calling him the next Montana, but his skill set is very similar.

Matt Moore just needs some more weapons like Blackmon or Richardson, and a solid oline. Our running game was pretty good with only 2/3 of an oline. I think it will be great with good starters all the way across. Richardson is a definate upgrade over Thomas..a no brainer.
Bush and Richardson would be among the RB best tandem in football.
Blackmon would be just awesome if he falls. He would give us another talent similar to Andre Johnson opposite of Brandon Marshall. Our WR's would be among the best in football. Our TE position seems to be improved with Fasano and Clay, the third guy commits too many penalties. We should look to replace the 3rd TE.

Our problem are much deeper than the QB position. We have no head coach and no DC. Until we can get that settled, how can we know how to draft?

I am afraid that Ross and Ireland, eager to save face and appease the media and vocal fans, will do something stupid and pay too much to trade up for RGIII with the #2 pick. Fisher will have the last laugh again. It is all to predictable. RGIII might be a great player, but he is no sure thing like Cam Cameron. Just waiting for the next exploding cigar to go up in Ross's face IMHO.

Not even close. His accuracy, pocket presence, etc. are not even worth mentioning in the same sentence as a guy like Montana. You can't be serious.

You really think we have to trade 2 entire year's worth of draft picks. THat shows you have no idea what you are talking about..

We finished 6-10. We sucked. Our QB's blow. We have backups. That's it.

From my post where did I say we are instant contenders? I see a Matt Moore franchise QB fan (LOL) is upset at someone calling out that Moore is mediocre.

I cant believe people think Moore is any good...Any little pressure on him from a good team and he becomes Mark Sanchez who ****ing sucks. if Moore was any good, why has he jumped around so much?

2nd half vs the patriots tells you that Moore is back up material...

And I didn't the last 9 games? APparantly you only watched the games vs the Jills.
