Why was AJ so bad?

I'm amazed that folks are dogging Feeley. Thank God someone said it before I did...it's the O LINE!!!! They are non existent. They are useless. They SUCK! Every time our QB went back to pass, he was under heavy pressure. How Frerrotte didn't get sacked for a safety is beyond me. How that LB got through untouched at OUR goalline is beyond me. It was such a familiar sight seeing Feeley limp. He gets KILLED EVERY PLAY. I thought Feeley looked pretty good, and I'm not a Feeley backer. Gotta say it thougfh, he threw some nice passes...even if Thompson dropped that 1 pass.

WOW! The Feely hatred is ridiculous! 4 (shoulda been 5) - 7 for 35 yards and no glaring mistakes and you people want him cut.

that game showed me 2 things. hudson still has a way to go on the oline and nicktator better whip that secondary into shape quick. way too many deep balls.

Oh man, that secondary was sickening. First, second and third team was awful. How the hell does a team gain 481 yards against us in a pre season match up.????? Unbelieveable!

Yes the O-line was bad, but this one play we saw over and over last year, and he was lucky it was not picked off, Feeley was under a heavey rush, instead of throwing the ball out of bounds near a reciever down field or stepping up in the pocket for time, he puts his head down and throws it at the O-line, and if I'm not mistaken (I have not watched the tape again yet), it bounced off of a Defensive linemans arm. He can't keep doing this. You people say chicken little responses, how about chicken little in the pocket?

They both did ok.

Neither was great or bad.

However, it is typical to overreact.

True...

Though IMO Feeley was Feeley.

Didn't look like he's improved on absolutely anything from last year. Hopefully, that will change.

Until then though I am not sure that's what we want at the QB position.

We shall see as the pre-season prgresses but the early forcast says that Gus will be the starter week 1.

Yeah it was the Oline... but its the one you've got... if feeley can't get it done with what you've got, he's gotta go.

Wasn't that a screen pass that was well defensed and sniffed out from the start? He threw it away.

How about " Feeley flat out is not an NFL QB, will never be great because he lacks all the things that make QB's great like confidence and ability... he was never expected to be much, and he isn't and the incompetant previous regime of the fins screwed the pooch when they traded for him"

Thats not cookie cutter, but it is the truth... play Frerotte, draft a QB next year... its your best bet.

What do you know? Why don't you go regale a Bills board and focus some of your laser like "knowledge" on Losman. I'm sure you think he'll be the greatest thing since sliced bread even though he has done and showed nothing.

I'm not gonna say that Feeley is a bad QB but he is a panzy. I think every game last year he was hurt and he got hurt last night. He needs to toughin up!

I don't know what to think about Losman... He's got alot of upside, but he seems to overthrow guys...

I'll know more about him when I go to the Bills/Colts game in Indy saturday.

Now... What do I know about Feeley?... i know that the guy is destined to be bad, he was never projected to be an NFL Qb... he couldn't beat out Detmer in Philly, he couldn't secure a job against Fiedler, and he's probably not gonna beat out Frerotte this year... by TC next season he won't even be on your roster.

Face it, the guy just dosn't have "it" he pusses out when the pressure is on, makes horrible decisions for a 5 year vet.

Sorry, but you have a decent, viable NFl QB on the roster, its just not AJ.

He threw it right off a Defesive linemans arm, he threw it right into the line. If the de-lineman was watching he would have scored 6!

I don't think he played badly. He wasn't very productive, it's not entirely his fault if the OL isn't blocking well, or if Thompson can't pull in the easy catch.

BUT, I'll be honest if it were my team, or on my 'dream team' Feeley isn't even qualified to be the back-up QB. I think Sage should be given more playing time and Feeley should just be trade bait...

If you think that he is starting caliber, WINNING quarterback material then you are being unrealistic. We need a better QB than that if we want to compete and win a Super Bowl. How old is he again?

I admire the tone of your response. That being said, it is still too early to write off AJ completely. AJ led us to two fourth quarter wins last year as he became more comfortable as the starter, one being against the world champs. He did nothing horrible last night. He does look skittish under pressure, but he may still be a little shell shocked form playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in history last year. However, his propensity to hurt his azz is a concern.

That's it in a nutshell.
Yeah, I agree. And if you compare Feeley's performance to Frerotte's, you have to consider the pass to Chambers was prayer that was answered by Chambers and the touchdown pass was one that slipped out of his hand as he was trying to pass to someone else.

All in all, keep everything in perspective. All things must be considered for a proper analysis of performance.
