Why wasnt kayjay harris drafted?

From the very little I saw of him today in minicamp he made some impressive runs. He is shifty and he has some jets(the good kind)

Like i said. He's a very good runner. He's a pretty big boy and will plow over you if he has the chance

Watch the video in my sig. Look up top for my first post. It will have it on there....and tell me thats not power running

Well i like kay-jay also and thats cause i watched him tear up the canes defence and man this guy has skills.i mean the guy ran for 337yds in one game this guy gets stronger as the game goes on and he has good hands to.

Yeah he also tore up my boys, The UCF Golden Knights, like the week after he broke the single game rushing mark. The guy's a beast. I'm glad he's on our team.

kay jay will be very very good , i am puzzled why he wasnt drafted he will suprise the nfl

Yeah, I would have to definitely agree with a lot of the statements previously mentioned. Age had to be the biggest single factor that caused him to drop so much, eventually falling out of the draft. I'm so excited that we picked him up as UDFA before everyone because I bet that there were quite a few other teams that would have still picked him up despite using a pick on him. I feel he gives sold depth at our RB core which we were in desparate need in.

I haven't heard much about him being "injury prone". What is that all about? Frankly, I haven't heard of a RB that hasn't gotten injured but how serious is this? Also one more thing... I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in this thread. Why exactly did he leave football and choose to pursue baseball? I'm not fully aware of that whole story and it would be greatly appreciated if someone can fill me in. I apologize if I'm not fully aware of the siutation (which it appears to be that I'm not lol), but could that be another key factor that caused him to go undrafted? By pursuing baseball, scouts might have pre-judged or questioned him about football not being his first love or interest? Just a possiblity... not saying there's any truth of it, but maybe some people all those factors weren't worth the risk because it seems like the talent is obviously there and he's a tremendous athlete. I'm really glad we got him, but I'm even more excited that we got him as an UDFA. Just goes to show Saban really did stick to his word about going with the BPA in what seemed like every situation.

I was at that game. They took him out early. I think he ran for 223 in the first half.

Definately his got a lot of potentials, but having Ricky back, is gonna be hard for him to make the team, but we never know...

Kay-jay is at the mini camps, and he is a real nice guy. Had some good runs. At the end of practice he litteraly picked up ronnie brown and brought him over to sign autographs. He signed my ball and i asked him bout that run that Westvirginiafan always has the links too. I hope he does well.

I was watching some videos of him.He has the build and size of a good RB but one has too question whether his plowing style of running is going to cut it in the NFL where the defenders are bigger and better .His speed is questionable as well.

How many times have we seen college RBs with glitzy stats become average in the NFL.

Having said that I am optimistic about his chances.

Regardless of his age etc. We are stacked at runningback. This is how championship teams are built, with depth. It's a nice change.

Well, we'll see if RW comesback and plays for this team. That has not been proven yet and we'll see it come TC. RW was not in Mini Camp, Kay Jay was, and we all know why. For now I would not mind having Kay Jay share the backfield with Ronnie, since Kay Jay can play for more than 2 years... ;)

I really hate you....lol

There is a down side of living in southern west virginia.. It takes like 15 hours to get to florida!...lol

I would pay big bucks for that ball. But i know you wouldnt sell it to me

If i was you. I wouldnt sell it to me either.... Its going to be worth alot some day man. Hold onto it

BTW: what did he say about that run?

But the people who have actaully went to these camps and have watched him play say they are impressed with him. So i mean something good is going to come out of this deal!

I'm not gonna write any player off, but Antowain Smith was like 25-26 and he was drafted in the 1st rd. I don't think Harris was drafted because, he's not that good of a player. Fred Russell was getting alot of hype last year because he was a good college player, but has not turned out to be anything more than a practice squad player. I'm thinking unless Harris is very good of special teams he'll be on the practice squad, and maybe destined for alot of playing time in NFL Europe or the Arena league.

Whatever happened to Russel? Is he still on our practice squad or is he on someone elses? He seemed like he had a chance to be a good kick returner but then we got Welker and I never heard anything more about him.
