Why we will go 10-6!!!!

5-11 to many holes to fill here, Ricky wont be back until week 6 so the rookie will have to brunt the load..

your secondary is not there yet..

brutal schedule...

and you still have o line issues and qb issues as well..

i think it could be 10-6, last year was our first losing season in a loooong time...have some faith in the fins

I have faith... in next year. This year, as fas as the coaches are concerned, I think wins and losses are irrelevent. This year is about seeing who is with them, and who isn't... and what holes they need to fill for next year.

This whole business of us having the talent and coaching to 10-6 is ALL TRUE... but the only problem is that this is the first year with a lot of that talent and ALL of that coaching. It takes time.

Hey, nothing is impossible... but I'm of the poinion that 10-6 (or better) is more realistic for next year, not this one.

EDIT: And to those who will point out that we won 11 games under Wanny, and made the playoffs in his first season... please remember that he and most of his staff was there the year before under JJ, and we were ALREADY a playoff team, unlike last year.

This stuff takes time, and the 2nd year is a good barometer of how good a team really win be in the long term. (Remember all the talk about the "2nd year in Norv's system..." during his 1st season with us?)

7-9 - The QB issue is just too unsettling to predict a winning season.

We were 2 & freakin 14, 8-8 would be come back team of the year. In fact if we get out of the first 4 games 1-3 I'd be thrilled!!!!!

weren't we 4-12?

Also, my question is and i'm not trying to sound like an a$$ cuz i just am not sure, what major losses did we have between the 2003 and 2004 seasons besides the ricky retirement, which i know is a big loss. The only reason I ask is because if that was our only major loss and we went 4-12, then why would be unrealistic to be 10-6 again with him back plus Ronnie Brown and better coach?

It wouldn't be unrealistic if we had the same coaching staff, and were running the same Offense/Defense. We're not. EVERYTHING has changed, top to bottom. That takes more than one offseason/preseason to institute.

We WILL be great again... better than 10-6 IMO under Saban... just not this year. Now, if I'm wrong about this year, I'll be the happiest wrong person on the planet though!

1. Jay fiedler is gone, Feely or Frerotte are better. Are you sure?? i dont think so.

2. We got rid of Wanstedt and got Nick saban who seems to be an amazing coach. Nick has yet to coach a regular season game, but hes better than Wanny???? why? after all those games Wanny won, now he sucks??

3. We got hudson houck who turned a s**t charger o-line into a very good one. your line will still have problems. whos you center?? or OGs?? ....exactly.

4. There were no huge distrations this year....ricky. In fact, he came back thereby leading me to #5. the term "distraction" is overused and not why the fins lost last season.

5. We by far have the BEST running back core in the entire league. we have 2 top five draft pick running backs. plus lamar gordon and travis minor for a change of pace. where a player was drafted, does not relate to how they will play. will ricky be the 2002 ricky, or will he be the 2003 ricky? how will brown perform as a rookie?

6. a new and improved d-line. with the additions of kevin carter, vonnie holliday, and "Tracktor" Traylor, and hopefully corey simon. new and improved??? more like a group of overrated, aging players braught into fill a desperate need. but Simon would SERIOUSLY help. i hope you dont get him.

7. We had one of the steals of the draft in channing crowder who will improve our lb core along with donnie spragan. Crowder wont start, and will have limited action. so he will have little impact on the game, this season.

8. we got rid of sammy knight, i know this may seem bad but i couldn't stand when he would always get burnt by the receivers, which leads me to maybe the only worsened part of our team from last year.......... Sammy was better than the guy you have now. him leaving hurt the team, it did not help.

9. The Secondary. The only real loss was surtain, but that is a huge loss. what about the safeties? both FAs you braught in are worse than the players they are replacing. your #2 CB last season is now the #1, and i dont think he can do the job the way yall need him to do it. your #3 cb last season will be the #2cb. and he is not good enough to be the #2. your secondary will be surprisingly (to you) bad this season. the fins are NOT used to that.

10. I think that olindo is also back from his break that he took last year.

11. We only got blown out in 1 game...that was the jets; who are much worse this year. The pats are worse and the bills have losman. you only got blown out once, but you were not "IN" may games. it might have been within 1 or 2 scores, but you never had any momentum, and I never had the feeling that the fins could really come back from 10 points back, to win the game. every time the fins did score to bring it close, the other team just went down and scored again. the Pats are the Pats. you got VERY lucky last season. i dont expect that to happen again. the jets arnt much worse this year. if their QB stays healthy, they will have atleast a 10 win season. the bills did not get worse. we had addition by subtraction. IMO, losman is better than Bledsoe, McGahee is better than Henry. Jennings was a overrated OT, who was always injured. and we improved at the Left OG spot. the loss of Pat Williams will hurt, but he only played 49% of the defensive snaps. we SHOULD be able to keep his loss from killing our run defense. and we have called about simon also :D .

12. if we had better coaching and feeley had developed one extra year and played the entire season; even with the crap ol and the worst rb tandem in the nfl we would have won 8 games last year. Think back to all the game we could have won on feeleys ints. for tds and the stupid stuff that happened.

I think we will be 10-6 this year or maybe 9-7 but atleast it will be better than last year.

What do you guys think ,after reading that, our record will be?
my comments are in BOLD.

i think you are a 7-9 team AT BEST. but realisticly a 6-10 team.
and NEXT season you may reach .500 depending on the QB situation.

Nothing is impossible, but 6-8 wins is more likely.

1) The o-line will need time to gel.
2) AJ isn't better than JF; Gus is only a little better than JF.
3) New offensive and defensive systems.

Our defense should keep us in every game and hopefully we will improve on offense. The way Ricky has been running vs 1st team starting defenses, sure gives us a lot of hope. I think if we get a few bounces, 8-8, 9-7 should be do-able. And that would be huge.

Amazing what a new staff and a few FAs lead to dellusions of granduer (sp)...

I am a die-hard fan as well, but there is no way we surprise many teams this year. The OL is STILL a question, the secondary is STILL a question, the QB situation is STILL a question...about the only area that seems to be definitely better than last year is the RB situation...

Just too many questions not answered yet...you can't go by the preseason...every year we see a team go undefeated in the preseason and crap out the rest of the year...It's just not a very reliable barometer of how the season will go.

The D will play good, the OL probably will improve, since they can't get too much worse, but will it be enough to overcome our biggest weakness (the same weakness we've had since Marino retired) ??

6-10 and feeling better about the team is the best we can hope for.

16-0

Just kidding, but we always have to have one of those predictions in every thread. So here it is.
