Why we will make the Playoffs...SERIOUSLY!

Can someone please explain to me why Gus will be "Starting" over AJ? Or at least even think about starting Gus over AJ? Im trying to find the reason behind that? Gus? But why???? Wouldnt the Fins rather try and develop AJ? Or wouldnt the fans rather see what AJ has to offer???
IMO, If Gus ends up starting it's because he's the better qb which in turn would mean that they will be looking for a QB next year to groom. AJ won't be their future.

I totally agree!!! The only way Gus Starts is if AJ is proven to be a waste.

i agree with you about going 10-6...i would feel a lot better about the secondary if we signed law or schulters...i also think the new schemes and the front 7 will help make up for the loss of surtain and knight and the injury of will poole...

To be a playoff team you have to win 10 games. Can you realistically say the Phins will win 10 games? I can't.

IMO Fiedler is better than Gus. I have a feeling that Fiedler will line up against the Phins atleast once this season.

OrangeCrush, we may be among the few, but I agree with the comment about Fiedler being better than Gus (or Feeley for that matter). We got rid of the wrong guy. At least Fiedler knew how to win and play with a sh*tty O-line, even if he's not a long-term solution. Saban brought in Gus because he knows Feeley is crap. He's seen the tapes. I don't care if he didn't have time to throw, he still threw it up for grabs too much.

Justa Joker

Justa, I happen to agree with everything said on the original thread here. I posted a simliar one a month or so back, which included the schedule. This is a talented team and it is better than last year.

Saban is NFL PROVEN AT D COORDINATOR and you failed to mention that Scott Lin offense was still productive without Moss.

We are better EVERYWHERE except for backfield on D and we have some decent players there.

There is NO reason to think Ronnie Brown wont be a good player or that Ricky wont be back.

Look dude, why not go post on the Bills website if these posts bother you? I get sick of your act!
FACTS:
Our O line is better
Saban is a proven coach in this league as D coordinator with the BROWNS and successfull. He is the most coveted coach coming out of college in a LONG TIME! And don't say spurrier!
QB'S are better
RB'S are better we had nobody last year MORON!
WR'S if Boston is healthy? BETTER!
D LINE--> WHY EVEN DISCUSS THIS? ITS MUCH BETTER!

Dude take your negative act over to the Bills Board! Your team def got worse!!

The Jets have lost 2 D LINEMAN and JOHN A is a hold out. Curtis Martin is now 32 and they lost Jordan. They also lost an O LINEMAN!

The Bills wont do anything with that coach who choked BADLY his last game of the year and was outplayed by BACKUPS!! LOL!

Justa Joke? Psst.. Get lost kid.. Miami will PREVAIL!!!!

I GUARANTEE IT!!

I GUARANTEE IT!!

I agree Miami is a better team than last year, but maybe thats still not good enough. Can you say that the phins will atleast win 10 games next year?

Scott Lin's offense might be good without Moss. But they also had one of the best QB's in the game and an o-line that ranks top 3 in the league with a very efficient running game.

Dude how can anyone say Fumbler is better than Ferrote? How many times have we watched Jay Fiedler under throw Chambers downfield? How many? I must have seen this at least 10-15 times since Chambers was drafted, if not more!!

Jay Fiedler does not have the arm for this offense, simple! He just can't reach downfield the way we need a QB to do so, especially in this offense!! His arm was a liability for us year in and year out and I think it was a small miracle Ricky was able to do as well as he did, without the threat of having a deep passing game.

I for one and GLAD he is gone and think Ferrote will show he has a much better arm and is able to make the PLAYS!! KEEP THIS IN MIND, ITS SIMPLE

A QB NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO MAKE THE PLAYS!! AND JAY FUMBLER COULDNT!!

Yes he had a much better offensive line with the Vikings, granted. But you can't say he had more talented running backs, he didnt. And our O line should be much better this year, lets face it when you are ranked dead last, there is no where else to go. I think with the addition of Houck and Mcdougal at RT, that alone is enough to move us up 10 spots. And from everything I have read the rest of them are playing better and love the system.

If the O line can be 16, that will be good enough to score 20 points per game and win us 10 games. We have a nice schedule also, where we only have one cold weather game.

Also, Nick Saban hasn't had a losing season in the last 11 years. Sure you can say thats in college, but the point is, he is a winner.

With the Bills starting a Rookie and losing Pat Williams, the JETS having some big loses along with the Pats, the only team to really improve is the Fins.

10-6

Correct me if IM wrong but didn't Miami almost beat Denver in at infamous Mile High last year? That is with a lame duck coach, a first year QB, no O line at all and no running game!

I think you will have a new found respect this season when Denver comes into MIAMI week 1. See you then.

Everyone feels their team is playoff bound when training camp reports start coming in.
Amen. I think the real point to take from this thread is that EVERY team in our division has some big questions this year.

NE-coaches, bruschi
NJ-can Martin keep going, pennington's arm (health)
Buf-McGahee's durability, rookie (essentially) QB
Mia-QB (still unknown what we have), Oline (terrible last year, how much does Houck help)

Now every team's fans think their questions will turn out for the better. Truthfully NONE of us know who will solve their questions and who won't. That is why this time of the year is the best for all fans.

look at it this way, Miami's team last year was close in basically every game. Has the out comes gone the other way we could have won 5-6 more games, if it weren't for stupid mistakes at the very end of the game, we played New England, Buffalo and The Jets tough so i certainly dont think they will beat us easy this year. Now i know a loss is a loss but i agree that it's not out of the question they are 10-6, i dont see it though, 7-9 or 8-8 for me.

In your eyes or in other words, your opinion.

So was Greg Williams and Wade Philipps. If Saban was a DC, yeah I'd say he'd eventually have a better D. What's his HCing record, oh wait!!

Even without Moss, the Vikes still have Culpepper. You DON"T. You don't have a qb who should be mentioned in the same sentence as Moss.

There are reasons, you just don't care to raise them. Brown is a rookie. He will be good ,eventually. RW? How long before he gives up again? I don't know and neither do you.

Sure, sure. What's his record as a Headcioach again? BTW, Wanny has a sb ring , Saban doesn't. Who's proven then

I love the way you ice things up. 10 spots up doesn't gurantee a playoff run. Great you have the new o-line coach, and your line will be improved. But nowhere close to the Vikings line. After all nowhere to go but up, right?

About Saban. Yeah he sure is a winner. But then again so was Spurrier. Point proven?

The vikings did have more talent at Rb than the dolphins do. Ronnie is a rookie. So until he proves himself, treat him like one. Don't think he will run for 1300 yards this year. If he does, he deserves props. But Vikings had Ontario Smith, Bennette (sp?), and Moore. And Randy Moss, who roated help to his side, causing wider lanes to run from, less LB's defensive philosphy.

Viking had Donte C. Who could have easily won MVP if not for Manning. Over here you have Feeley and Gus debating who will take the snap. Frankly, It doesn't matter who does. Their talent level is the same.

In conclusion, the Phins will be more improved team. But not a playoff team.

OK homers lets simmer down a little bit OK. I am a Dolphins fan through and through, but I am pretty sure we are looking at .500 at best this year. The only reason I say this is because every other team in our division are better than us right now. I know it sucks to hear but it's true. Now stranger things have happened but we should be decent this year, not Superbowl contenders but decent all the same. There are still too many holes on our O-line, our QB situation stinks, secondary is one injury away from a being a joke, kicker is getting worse every season, our WRs need to step up this year or we need to find new ones, LB vets getting old...................this is why we won't contend this year, it's too many holes to fix in one off-season. By next season I'm expecting great things for our team, and hopefully play this year will give us an idea of things to come.
