Why would anyone take Pitts over Smith?

We are in a dolphins forum you know.

I mean is hard to look back as some players overachieve, and underachieve. I don't personally think the players that were drafted underachieved other than the expectations set by the draft experts. I am optimistic that some of these receivers will break out next season. Eagles have a new situation going on for example, so who is it to say that JJ won't be great in that Reag won't be great in that situation for example.
I think so many people get caught up in measurables (including scouts) that they forget that the most important part is wether or not they can play football.

I tried to tell people Henry Ruggs was going to be overdrafted. People like Mike Mayock and scouts in general are as predictable as the sunrise.

They draft based on empirical and recorded data that they can look at on a sheet of paper and compare. They're accountants. They can't draft based on film and that's why people are knocking Smitty. They don't have any workout numbers to compare so it creates an extreme amount of doubt in their mind. Not doubt about Smitty's ability to play football, but doubt about their own ability to know how good he is.

Somebody tell me why the experts didn't have Justin Jefferson rated ahead of Ruggs. Explain why they didn't have Gabriel Davis rated ahead of Ruggs.

I did. It does you no good to try to use Ruggs against me because he played for Alabama. I tried to tell people he was the 4th best receiver on Bama's team for years.

His own teammate Waddle will be pick before Smith

Mismatch in the Middle of the field and a tall target at the goal line, and he is a willing blocker

He may have "it", but so do alot of players that are just too small/thin to play in the NFL (Doug Flutie, Lamar Thomas come to mind).

Besides I hate the thought of a TOP-10 WR, the results rarely pan out.

Most players from this draft aren't going to pan out just like every other draft - and most of the ones that aren't going to pan out isn't going to be due to lack of size. They'll be big enough. They just won't be good enough.

Ultimately you have to decide for yourself whether you think he's good enough - just like everybody else. It's going to be one or the other. There's only one thing that everyone can count on - truth and fiction will be separated.

He's made his case over the past 4 years.

Pitts brings match up problems for a defense that Smith doesn't. But I would be very happy with either player.

Someone on here certainly loves themselves but as the old saying goes “if you piss in every direction some of its bound to land in the toilet”
