Will RT be in the Top 100 players for 2014?

He improved from year 1 to year 2 behind a bad offensive line that couldn't protect him or convert 3rd and 1s. If the O-line upgrades work out, I have little doubt that he will take another step forward.

It is not all about season numbers. Tim Tebow made the list in 2012.

he should be better w/ a better OL and even better weapons.

So should Geno, but I'm not so sure he will even be the Jets starting QB come week 1. I know improvement doesn't always translate to better numbers, but if Tannehill improves on his 2013 numbers, (24 TDs and nearly 4,000 yards passing), he will have a decent chance of making the top 100. Much better odds than the 0% chance you give him based on last year.

Edit:

I think I misunderstood your "Not a chance" statement. Were you saying he won't be on this years list based on last year? I thought you were saying based on last year, he won't be on next years list.

Top 100 players of 2014 is the list that is based off of last year's performance. If the OP was mistaken and meant to say 2015, it's a little less outlandish.

pretty sure the players voting for top 100 for 2014, mean who they THINK will be the top 100 performers for this coming year. So yes, they will probably base some of their thoughts on what happened last year, and try to predict how they will do this year.

I thought it was based on last year and didn't have anything to do with projections of this coming year. If it wasn't, why was Tebow on the list in 2012 when he was signed by the Jets to be the backup?

I expect Geno will improve, how much? we'll see.

Ryan had good #s last year, he wasn't anywhere near as good as his #s so just improving on his #s doesn't tell me a lot. It's how he gets them, he could have worse #s and a better season than a year ago if he makes more plays to win games.

He can make the list next year, he has a lot of work to do but he has been provided w/ the tools.

maybe the players thought he would start over sanchez? why would it be top players for 2014, if they only go by the 2013 stats? wouldn't it be top 100 for 2013 then?

No one who knows anything about football thought he was starting. It is based on the previous season, this top 100 is about 2013, it is just revealed in 2014.

My gut says that Geno will be on the bench if Vick is healthy. How long can he stay healthy? Who knows? Geno didn't have a lot to work with last year, but still I don't see him as the Jets future at QB. I kind of get the feeling that the Jets don't think so either.

Considering the line he was behind and how much the Dolphins relied on passing, I think he was nearly as good as his numbers indicate. How many Dolphins games did you actually watch from beginning to end?

well, the players are the ones that vote, so....

and why would anyone care how the players rank themselves for the 2013 season? why would they rank clay so high, when there are clearly better TE's in the league last year. this list is a projection on how the players think other players will do in 2014.

Considering that Kaepernick was ranked somewhere in the 80's, I don't think Tannehill will be on there. Not saying Kaepernick is that much better than Tannehill, but it's a popularity contest, and he's been to a SuperBowl and to the NFC Championship game twice. Regardless if the 49'ers success comes from their defense, the QB gets much credit. Would love to see Tannehill on that top 100 list, though.

the jury is out on geno, I am not sold but I was very encourage how he ended the last qtr of last season. he really improved those last 4 games.

The Ol wasn't great but he had chances to perform and failed. some of the sacks on the OL, some on him but the OL is being used as the excuse(along w/ the OC). Plays were there to be made, there is no reason Miami shouldn't have made the playoffs last year. was it all on Ryan? of course not, if they improved in any of a number of areas they make it. OL a little better, run game a little better, D a little better but also if the QB was a little better they make it and he as awful w/ the season on the line.

I saw a lot of dolphin games last year, did I watch every snap? no but I saw more than enough. He wasn't anywhere near as good as the #s suggest which is why I never judge solely on #s. I remember folk telling me how great he was against us and Pitt and he put up excellent #s but also kept opponents in both games.

lol, so this top 100 list is pretty worthless. more-so than some might already think, since players can submit their vote in November, and voting on the current year. that makes no sense what-so-ever.

since most players have the talent evalutaion skills of Jeff Ireland, that list is a crap shoot anyway, but it's a fun read nonetheless.
