Will the fan base have the patience of this building process?

I would think that Tannehill should be given 3 years of starter experience before we really judge. but the henne experience proved that you can tell if a guy has it after just one year of starting. I mean do any of us really see gabbert as being a good qb anywhere down the line?

Bill, This scenario...........Tannehill sits this yr, needs more time to develop, season tanks, next draft we have a
a shot at getting Barkley or Jones. What do you do?

No there is no patience, we've been rebuilding for ten years in my mind. Understanding the the cycle is starting again, with yet another group in charge yes, patience no.

You would take Barkley if you can get him.

I am not a big fan of Ireland. I think he drafts solid...not spectacular, but mismanages the salary cap. But I will say he played this draft absolutely brilliant! What better way to make sure he will be around for the next 2-3 years by drafting a developmental QB with the #8 pick. If Miami fails this year Ireland has the it will be different once Tannehill plays excuse...masterful, absolutely masterful!

Why are we rebuilding, because we finally drafted a QB? This is basically the same team with another draft and an improved coaching staff. We didn't get Manning and even attempting to sign a 36 year old signal caller screams that they think they have a decent amount of talent on the roster. The only way to get a franchise QB is to throw your hat in the ring and draft one. Unless we would have got Manning nothing was going to put us in contention to topple Brady for the next few years.

It is what it is........hope Tannehill becomes elite around the time Brady is winding down and we become the rulers of the AFC East. If Tannehill does not pan out, then we are likely are looking for a new GM and coaching staff. At that point, it might be labeled a rebuild. Just enjoy the season with the play and development of the players. Neither Luck, RG3, or Tannehill will be hoisting a Lombardi trophy the next few years. But Moore, Garrard and Flynn likely never will unless they end up holding a clipboard somewhere.

A group of players doesn't create a TEAM. This is the same group of players with some additions and an important subtraction, but most important with very different approaches. Right now Dolphins are implementing new schemes on offense and defense. And I can expect more explosiveness on both sides, but also there are going to be more mistakes on both areas. Special teams will have a similar philosophy but different members and it makes it almost impossible to predict.

All I can say is that there are going to be great plays and will be funner to watch so I found this thing irrelevant as fanbase is going to be happy at the end of the season, probing this rebuilding wasn't as miserable as many expected.

I'll give a couple of years to see which direction they are heading towards.

The Miami fanbase has not patience whatsoever. As such, I think its a bad idea to put Tannehill and "learn on the field" because the fanbase will eat him alive if he doesn't come out like Marino. Let Tannehill sit and learn from the sidelines and focus on his mechanics in practice for at least a year.

Miami fans don't show up for games now.

The problem is that these same questions, and this same kind of thing was said 5 -6 years ago. It is a rebuilding time....etc. The modern day game does not give anyone more than 1-2 years to show real results. a coach needs to be able to come in and make an impact today.

Heck ... I'll get excited by crossing the Mendoza Line over .500 ... and STAYING there!!

When will the rebuild get me to Mendoza-nirvana ... not sure with a newby coach AND newby QB.
