Will You Trust Saban's QB Choice?

The last two QB competitions have ended with controversial results. A lot of fans thought Damon Huard should have gotten the nod over Jay Fiedler. Then last year, Wannstedt split the camp snaps between Feeley and Fiedler, essentially robbing Feeley of a chance to learn the offense and also leaving Fiedler unprepared.

So my question is this, will you trust Saban's decision when he names a starter at QB? I personally would like to see Feeley as our starter, but if Saban picks Frerotte, I will support him without any skepticism. That's the biggest difference in having Saban this year, and from suffering under Wannstedt the last few years. I believe Saban's decision will absolutely be what is best for the team at this moment. With Wannstedt, I was never sure if he really thought Fiedler was the best choice, or if he was playing it safe and trying to keep his job.

As long as he names Gus the starter, I won't say a thing. Now if he names AJ the starter, I will call him a brainless hack. If he names Brock then ......well I guess we will have to crack the ice around hell. :D

Well for those saying that wont support Saban if chooses the guy they dont like, sorry but that is teh crack pipe smoking. Sorry but if anyone thinks they know more than Saban, you are delusional. if that is the case, then your concern is not that the dolphins win and succeed, your concern is that they only succeed if they do what you want.

If we believe in Saban as a Head Coach, then we should trust and accept ANY player that he chooses to start at ANY position, no matter what personal points of view we may have. I'd love to see my Oregon Duck, AJ, prove he is worth the 2nd round pick we gave for him, be named the starter and play lights out, but if Gus is the starter, I'll support him equally as much. Nick is da man as a Heach Coach and I'll not 2nd guess anything he does in that regard.

I don't have any prior Saban experience, but from what I've observed so far, he doesn't appear to be making glaring mistakes. I don't expect that to change signicantly.

I think you have to trust in Nick, and his staff to make the right call. We may not all be happy, but respect that he made the call to who he thought could do the best job. I believe in Nick that as the season goes on, he will make the call on how important the 2006 draft is for a quarterback. Nick wanted to see what he had in AJ this season, before going out and drafting a quarterback. It's too early to hate on Nick for a decision that he is going to have people pissed on both sides, but he will make the best call.

Short answer: yes.

He does have a tough decision to make, though: go with Frerotte who is familiar with the system and can correct WR during the game on the spot, or go with Feeley who, surprisingly, isn't far behind in production despite less experience: indicative of more upside than Frerotte.

I trust that Saban will choose the better QB though it's not much to select from. Like choosing death by electrocution or hanging.

Do we have a choice? Nope. That being said i do think Saban will do whats best for the ball club.....which is all we can ask for.

Any one he picks to play i will trust. If we lose, its' Saban's fault...
Yes, I think he would be the first to admit if he made a mistake, rather then DW doing the back peddling, and on the positive side crap.

I guess I'd trust him if I understood why he chose Ferrotte. I mean, he isn't the best long term, but if he were chosen, I guess it would be because Saban sees Feeley as a non-option for the future too. If he provided some strange reason for picking Gus, I guess my confidence would be a bit shaken, but I doubt he'd give a lame reason.

I don't give a crap if he admits a mistake or not. All I care about are W's. Win or get the hell out, ya' know?

This worship of Saban is starting to worry me. Don't get me wrong I don't think he's made any mistakes so far but I want to go through the season before I decide if he's the next incarnation of Shula ( a true god). As to who's the starter I'll say if he chooses Frerotte I'll be surprised. I'm with those who want to see the younger QB Feeley play out the season and either prove himself or fail. From the reports of the first week of training camp ( yes I know its only the first week and we shouldnt read too much into it) it seems obvious that at worse they are even and at best Feeley has the slight edge overall and a huge edge on the deep game. If it stays the same throught the preseason go with Feeley. If it is Frerotte he better not suck because if he does I would rather have Feeley play even if he stinks up the joint because at one point maybe the light goes on and the mental part of the game catches up with the physical
