Will You Trust Saban's QB Choice?

I'll trust his choice, whomever it will be but if it's Freotte I will be skeptical of him. He has said himself "I want a team that will be able to be dominant in the FUTURE". Freotte should play his role as mentor and backup, while Feeley should perform as our starter IMO, we need a solid QB situation for the future. We can't go through the same thing every Training Camp. I'm tired of being unsure about our QB, I hope Saban can make me at ease.

So...you'll trust the choice as long as it's AJ?

Skepticism is the opposite of trust. That makes everything after the but complete nonsense.

I don't give a crap if he admits a mistake or not. All I care about are W's. Win or get the hell out, ya' know?

How many wins to you expect a saban team to get this year? Who else is out there that is a better coach then Nick, that we could of had?

The last two QB competitions have ended with controversial results. A lot of fans thought Damon Huard should have gotten the nod over Jay Fiedler. Then last year, Wannstedt split the camp snaps between Feeley and Fiedler, essentially robbing Feeley of a chance to learn the offense and also leaving Fiedler unprepared.

So my question is this, will you trust Saban's decision when he names a starter at QB? I personally would like to see Feeley as our starter, but if Saban picks Frerotte, I will support him without any skepticism. That's the biggest difference in having Saban this year, and from suffering under Wannstedt the last few years. I believe Saban's decision will absolutely be what is best for the team at this moment. With Wannstedt, I was never sure if he really thought Fiedler was the best choice, or if he was playing it safe and trying to keep his job.

Yes because unlike last year, it doesn't seem to be a QB controversy, more like a competition, which if Feeley wins again he will get the nod..

My gut tells me Saban is going to be a great coach. I really think we bagged a winner with Nick. But he hasn't won a game yet. Whoever he picks to start any position is going to open to questioning unless the wins start coming in. The rookies have to prove they belong, the veterans have to prove they belong but so does Saban. When he proves he's a winner we can all put our faith in his decisions but until our team is a winner again we all have the right to be skeptical or questioning. (Although up to now I dont question one move he's made)

I'm not at all questioning your right to be skeptical -- you have a right to be skeptical for the reasons you have pointed out and because of the way the last two coaches have burned this team. I honestly don't understand why so many people are so trusting just because of that history. My point here is just that you can't call skepticism trust.

i agree. i'm confident in his judgement, even if it is Frerotte. But i think that its bad news if its Frerotte for the sake of the future, as you say

Well I can't have my own personal doubts? I mean if that's the opposite of trust so be it, I want a QB for future. I'm not saying AJ will be, but I hope so. I'm tired of not knowing what's what.

Let's just say I'll root for whoever he chooses to be starter but I'd like it to be AJ.

You're welcome to your own personal doubts. I'm not suggesting otherwise. My point was that you can't call doubts "trust".

I expect 10 wins. That's what we expected out of wanny before the season started last year and this team looks like it has better depth and talent.

As far as Saban being the best coach out there, that is debatable. The guy made his name as a great college coach. The NFL has a history of making Great college coaches look like crap. Its' a wait and see to decide hes some great NFL coach...

yep, i'm sure that there were a lot of jets, pats, and bills fans that hoped huard got the nod, dude was horrific.

I'll give nick his three years to screw up. And I will support the qb position for at least one year until the guy starts looking like J.F then I would hope we get a new body in there. So heres hoping Nicky makes the right choices concerning this offense.

Oh and by the way. I have to chime in my two cents on this Damon huard was ahead of Jay in Wannys first year. But for some ungodly reason and the last preaseason game Jay all of a sudden was tabbed the starter. How can a guy just coming in to a system like he did be behind a guy all preseason. And all of a sudden he is the one.

Well we all know how Wanny's decision making was.
