Wish we hadn't signed Chambers to that long contract.

That sure TD catch he missed in the last preseason game by the pylon is what separates him from other WRs who routinely get 1000+ yard seasons and pro bowl births.

Players like Torry Holt, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Chad Johnson, Javon Walker, Reggie Wayne, Nate Burelson, Hines Ward, Roy Williams, Joe Horn,...etc would have caught that football.

I'm tired of the excuses with Chambers. He has to step it up and be that deep threat!! Yes that means beating double teams and making the hard catch. Its what other damn good WRs do.

Although I agree with you on that is what seperetes him from being great.

He is somebody the phins needed to keep for a long time. He will get there.

Jesus Christ.... Loook at all those players... can you say... peyton manning, Bulger, Carson Palmer, Brett Farve, Aaron brooks, .......

Do we have any of those passers at all?

Hell no.........

You are out of your mind boy, you must have been boiling chicken necks all your life son.

No one seems to realize this...Anquan Boldin had a QB throwing to him. Who was the team under? Dennis Green! He's an offensive genius. Who was our Coach or Offensive coordinator? Who knows! Wanstaddt apparently had no idea how to run an offense, nonetheless even run it effectively. Now we are at Nick Saba, with an already proven Offensive Coordinator. And you must remember, our offensive line was so bad last year, and years before.

Bad O-line ----> Pressure on QB -----> Bad Throws ---> Interceptions/Overhead passes/incompletions

I don't care who you are. Your Offense centers around your Offensive Line. Chris Chambers has made some of the best catches I have ever seen in my life. Remember the Thanksgiving game? Amazing catch. Remember the Sunday Night game with Denver 3 years ago? Pass across the middle, took a helmet from Kennoy Kennedy to the jaw, broke his jaw. Did he catch it? YES! Jags preseason game. Remember the catch he made, after getting drilled by Mathis (I believe it was him), that takes pure skill to make that catch. That's the kind of skill ELITE wide recievers have. Chris Chambers has the potential to be that Torry Holt or Terrell Owens. The key word there is: POTENTIAL. With Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield, it opens up the passing game. Setup screen passes to take the pressure off Chris Chambers and other recievers. For example, put Chambers in Marvin Harrison's shoes...think about it.

I agree, he does need to take it to the next level.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I wish we HAD NOT signed him, but it amazes me how everyone calls him a top level receiver. He has never cracked a 1000 yards in 5 years. Every year, there are a rookie or 2 and some player(s)that has been around a while and busts out with a great season but chambers is consistanly under 1000. Close but no cigar. And the crap about him not having a QB does not fly cuz there are always a few recievers who have great years with no better QB than us. Hell, Boston and Booker managed great years with avg or below QBs.

Chambers can play like a top level receiver in one game and disappear the next. That is the reason he is not a top level receiver.
It helps to have a good qb and consistant running game

While he may not be ready for the HOF, he is one of the most talented receivers we have ever had. If he gets a QB that can throw him the ball, we'll see more of his talent.

Dave Dumbstadt could have turned TO and Randy Moss into 500 yard receivers. He could have made Jerry Rice a 3rd down possesion receiver.

why are we all of a sudden bashing one of our best offensive weapons. you wanna bash feeley and gus fine, you wanna bash ricky for the whole 9 yards fine, but why chambers, the man never utters a word, goes out and does his job, and he is extremely talented, we need more players like chambers if anything

chambers catch rating in madden is underrated...:p

Nah man.

I have stated it the last 2 years.

Every 3 or 4 games Chambers has a bad case of the dropsies.

This is what seperates him. He can be elite in this league.

Right now the only thing holding him back is himself. Not the coaching or the QB'ing himself. Yes all that other stuff helps, but he has had many opportuinities to make plays and hasn't.

Now this isn't really bashing him. He has had plenty of plays where he made something out of nothing. He just needs to have better focus.

The greats are great because they make things happen on their own.

Did Marino need good WR'S
Did Barry Sanders need a good O-line
Deion Sanders even
etc etc...

There are so many exces anyone can use, but in the end excuses mean nothing u just have to perform.

I am just glad we locked him up for a while so we will one day see his potential to it's fullest.
