Im not too sure on this but Id say drafting ronnie brown was probably the best idea.

OK, you just answered your own question.

We took the best player available in Ronnie Brown.

well there was the possibility of drafting braylon edwards. that is why i created this topic. Also I wanted to hear your guys oppinions

Ricky coming back doesn't affect how I feel about the pick one bit. Ronnie was the BPA at #2 and I am 100% happy with the choice. Plus, Ricky is still Ricky, and he can't be counted on. Ricky may only be here for just this season and Ronnie is a great young powerfull back with few miles on him. Best pick by far.

I am glad we took Ronnie. Personally, I prefer Ronnie over Ricky 100 times over. I really think we'll be able to make Ricky and Ronnie fit in the same system as Ronnie was not only the best PLAYER available but in my eyes, the best PERSON available -- He's not selfish, greedy, ego-driven...he'll be happy with whatever he produces

I think if Miami knew RW was coming back they should have taken Alex Barron. This is a personnel director's dream. A left tackle, almost 6-8 and over 300 pounds who runs 4.9, falls into your lap. The most impressive number he has is 38-inch arms, which is great for blocking purposes. The best left tackle candidate in the draft, line coaches worried about his passion for the game and lower leg strength for run blocking.

Doesnt matter if they knew Ricky was returning...you have to treat the draft as if Ricky Williams didnt exist. You depend on Ricky, you are setting yourself up for disaster. Use him while he's here, trade him if you can get any value, but never, never depend on him.

Its easy to call this one now. Braylon wouldve been the pick, but we didnt know for sure Ricky was coming back, even though it was heavily rumored then. I still think the pick was a solid one. Never know how, and or what Ricky will, or could pull next.

Beautifully articulated statement. How true.

We will demonstrate this year that Ricky can play. Next year we trade him for the best pick we can get. That's how we rebuild.

Yes. Even if RW plays great, we got depth to prolong Ronnie's career while he's learning the ropes on an improving team. No use burning him out. Plus he can catch passes while lining up with RW in the same backfield. No news here, but it was a great pick.

I hear Ronnie's a great team player and I like that better than what I hear from Braylon.
