with ricky williams coming back... was ronnie the right pick?

Doesnt matter if they knew Ricky was returning...you have to treat the draft as if Ricky Williams didnt exist. You depend on Ricky, you are setting yourself up for disaster. Use him while he's here, trade him if you can get any value, but never, never depend on him.

I've been saying that since RW decided to come back. Nothing personal, just don't get burned by him again and get what we can for him after he proves himself again. That would be great. I wish him well, but on another team, preferably out of division if he plays well again.

Its easy to call this one now. Braylon wouldve been the pick, but we didnt know for sure Ricky was coming back, even though it was heavily rumored then. I still think the pick was a solid one. Never know how, and or what Ricky will, or could pull next.

I think your right, they just weren't sure at draft time.

I think if Miami knew RW was coming back they should have taken Alex Barron. This is a personnel director's dream. A left tackle, almost 6-8 and over 300 pounds who runs 4.9, falls into your lap. The most impressive number he has is 38-inch arms, which is great for blocking purposes. The best left tackle candidate in the draft, line coaches worried about his passion for the game and lower leg strength for run blocking.

Barron at #2 overall would have been a HUGE reach.

I questioned the pick at #2. RB didn't even start on his own team. I understand he has the tools, but he was never counted on to lead his team. I trust Saban because he saw RB played, but I still think we could have gone in a different direction.

agreed . . . the guy isnt a hard worker . . . he's already struggling in STL's minicamps, and they are "hoping" he can start . . . pretty funny since they had garbage at RT last year . . .

1.) It's not like Ricky can be trusted. We drafted Brown to be our future...Ricky is not our future.

2.) Saban felt he was the b.p.a. in the draft. We all can sit here a judge the pick...oh Brown never started and such...but the truth is Saban has seen what Brown can do in person, he's had to plan the defense around him...he knows what Brown's capable of...simply put, he knows more than any of us here.

Im not too sure on this but Id say drafting ronnie brown was probably the best idea.

I agree. I thought he was a really solid pick. Ricky is too unpredictable. One should never build their fortunes around a fickle guy who is capable of dumping your team the moment it suits his fancy.

Ronnie was not only the best PLAYER available but in my eyes, the best PERSON available -- He's not selfish, greedy, ego-driven...he'll be happy with whatever he produces

Then there's no reason he should be holding out come TC....

Thus far, with the rumors of a Brown hold-out, I'd have to say he looks pretty selfish, and greedy in my eyes.

I hate these rookies who come into the NFL, and refuse to "practice", just because they don't have a check in their hand. It's beyond ridiculous for someone who had never even played a snap of NFL football to resort to such negociation tactics as this. They haven't earned a dime, and here they cry like little babies because their bank account isn't full....

Brown is starting to really piss me off. I go to TC every year, and I expected to see him in uniform from day one. It's simply wasting our time, and all of our dedication in drafting him in the first place....

These rookie should have fixed salaries until they prove they're worth the big bucks. It's beyond lunacy...

PHINZ RULE!!!!

you can not trust R. Williams to have him as the starting RB.

atleast not yet.

Blitz ... remember, this is an agent-driven "problem." And as annoying as the cliche is, it's really appropriate here: "Don't hate the player, hate the game."

I really think everything is going to work out fine with Ronnie. We just need to have some dominos start falling.

On another note, I know I've told you this before, but that new sig pic is AWESOME! She kind of looks like Lucy Lawless in that photo. Regardless, me likey.

Ronnie was the correct choice. Even if Ricky returns to close to his old self, he only wants to play 2 years max anyway.

i can bet ricky williams will play in the nfl longer than that. Ricky Williams wants to compile as much money as he can before he retires again. He probably does not want to go through the same problem he had before
