Woah!!!!! Wait a second people.....

so if you go by all of your logic, he can't get credit for the "almost" superbowl win because al davis was in charge, and same goes for tb, then you have to give grazer all the credit.
I don't know, i think some of you guys are over excited for this to happen because of the "chuckie" stigma he's created but he's had nothing as a track record for developing young qbs, that makes me nervous if we even have a shot at luck

huh???

How about this, he won a SB with Brad Johnson and turned Rich Gannon into a Pro Bowler...

I see the thread where everyone is already holding Grudens jock and handing him over the keys, but I want to know exactly why all of you are in love with this guy. Besides winning a super bowl with Dungys team, what moment while watching him coach did you all of a sudden say I have to have him as my head coach. I mean really how bout some instances or plays where you were blown away with him as a coach. Post them here cause I would love to be educated.

Now, I'm not saying I'm against him coming here, but what makes him this intellectual innovative mind that he should be coaching the Fins????? I'm indifferent. I mean come come on this guy uses his #1 overall pick and selects a FG kicker in the first round. And his explanation was because the raiders lost so many games by less than three points the previous year????? Seriously????? And we're complaining about Dabol right now?????

He's better than Sparano. Instantly, this is a plus.

Gruden is a winner and an indisputable offensive guru. In that Super Bowl he did the proverbial Bum Phillips "took your'n and beat his'n"
I see plenty of people giving you reasons you don't want to accept. So instead of blasting people for making a reasonable choice, why don't YOU bring something to the table and give us a better choice with solid reason we can hang OUR hat on?

Put up or shut up.

fin-atic the chael sonnen of finheaven! love it!

The whole "Gruden won with Dungy's players" is way, way overplayed. First of all, Dungy wasn't the GM of the team, Rich McKay was. So in reality, Gruden won with the team McKay built while Dungy couldn't. The biggest knock on Dungy at the time was that his offense was way too conservative(sound familiar?) and he got fired after losing to the Eagles in back to back seasons. Next thing you know, Gruden comes in and wins the NFC Championship against the Eagles and later the SB. If anything, Tony Dungy is the overrated coach who you could argue only won his SB because of Peyton Manning.

So if you want to give McKay credit for the players, please remember that Gruden ran McKay out of town and had a GM put in whose job it was to enact Gruden's will.

You do realize that he never had final say over personnel anywhere he coached? And that Janikowski was Al Davis' pick, no Gruden's... You need to go back and do some research before you start making threads.

imo, first off Gruden did win games how many has Daboll won so far ? Gruden has won a SB EVEN if it was said that all the credit gose to dungy, how many SB has daboll won? ok case closed on that part, and for the other part of your question im not holding his jock strap ,hewas the last of the BIG 3 that i wanted /want, imo my first pick was Cowher, than Fisher, and then Gruden. sorry

The thought process of picking anyone other then Andrew Luck if we are in that position is flawed. Part of the interview with Ross will include drafting strategy and the #1 pick. Leaks out of Davie indicate Ross' understanding the need for a franchise QB not only to build a winner but put fans in the seats. No matter who the Dolphins select as their Head Coach the QB will be Andrew Luck if they have the #1 pick. If they dont have the first pick, Landry Jones or Matt Barkley will be starting the opener in 2012.

I think it would be a deadly mistake to give Gruden or anyone else full control. With that said, I don't think anyone is crazy enough to pass on Luck if we are in position to draft him. I could see them passing on Landry Jones or Matt Barkley though. This is where Ross must come in and demand a star QB to be drafted. If the reports are true, I have hope that this is what will happen.

imo . look dude you need to go check out landry jones because Luck and Jones is right there together and there not that far apart from being elete and i would grade the #1a #1b now barkley is a little bit more off from those 2 but if you can see ANY COACH PASSING ON LUCK OR LANDRY THEY NEED THERE HEADS EXAMINED..
