Worst WR core in league

They had opportunities to address the position early and didn't, which means they feel mostly comfortable with what they currently have on the roster and Philbin feels he can develop these guys better than Sparano did. It was a deep draft, and they got Cunningham from MSU who is very polished and runs good routes, and Matthews out of Nevada is physically explosive and had a lot of production. Both of these guys can help contribute to this offense, which became much more versatile this weekend. I'm happy with the draft for the second year in a row.
 
We're all good now, we just got that superstar from Nevada in the 7th round. He will probably start next year.
 
What you have is a perception of our WR corps, in a system that didn't work. What our new head coach has is a perception of our WR corps in a system that he believes will work. Being that i'm not an NFL coach or GM, i'm inclined to believe them.

Also, Donald Driver - 7th round....just sayin...
 
I think this core will surprise us when the season starts, lets see how they perform before we make bash them

Bet you were saying the same thing a few years back in the Saints forum when it came to that 7th round WR from of all places Adelphi. Did you say "Adelphi" ?????? WTF!!!!!!!

Davone Bess - Undrafted

Philbin said we dont need a #1 in a WCO. The Eagles did it without one for years. The Packers spread the ball around a lot too. Im not that worried.
 
They will likely have Moore or Garrard go with Wallace, Bess, Cunningham, Gates, and Hartline this season. Then concentrate next year's #1 pick on an "Alpha" receiver if Wallace turns out to be a bustand probablyadd another olb and db. At that point Tannenhill is given the car keys and has the tools to succeed.

Philbin is a liar. He had a #1 in his WCO in GB, as well as other better WRs and an elite TE to spread the ball a lot. Not to mention a much better QB.

Next year will be a nightmare, esp if Bush goes down. If your not worried you are just looking forward to an early pick next year.
