Worst WR core in league

Marques Colston - Undrafted
Victor Cruz - Undrafted
Davone Bess - Undrafted

Philbin said we dont need a #1 in a WCO. The Eagles did it without one for years. The Packers spread the ball around a lot too. Im not that worried.

Not exactly what he said:

"Part of the philosophy of the offense is to have balance," Philbin said Wednesday,
according to ESPN.com
. "We want our quarterbacks typically to have what we call progression reads, where they're not necessarily isolated on one specific individual. With that being said, we're going to play to our hot hand. We're going to certainly strive to create mismatches and take advantage of the guys that we do have. But the offense, once we install the passing game, is not necessarily built upon, 'OK, you're the No. 1 guy, you're the No. 2 guy, you're the No. 3 guy.' "

Somehow when coach Philbin refers to having balance and creating mismatches fans seem to think he is saying Miami doesn't need good WRs. The better the WRs the more mismatches are created.

I know a lot are happy with Tannehill but who will he throw to? Hartline or Wallace would be a #4 on 85% of the teams. And Ireland has done absolutely nothing to help this :(

This is the worst post in the world. with nobody hating on the original poster because we dont hate on individuals. Keep on with the dribble big guy way to go. I love the original poster. Now if the phins didnt like our WR's they would have got more of them, Our 1st 4 picks were awesome, starters all of them by year 2.

Yea anyone who thinks having a WCO somehow means you can trot out ****ty WR's and be fine is really, really fooling themselves. Our WR group is awful. Just as bad after the draft as it was before. Hopefully for Tannehill's sake they don't start him when Matt Moore flops.

What we need is Greg Jennings, he is a alpha guy.

What we didnt need was Brandon Marshall, who was a lazy route runner, iffy hands, and never seem to put out 100% all of the time.

It's not a sexy group, but it's not awful.

put tannehill as a wr, if you draft a player that high he must play

ou need to give this new system some time before you jump off a bridge. We got some nice receivers today and i think the guys we have are good for the new system

Is that kind of like a woman with a "really nice personality"? Think we need to call a duck a duck. On paper, our WR's have a nice personality but they are one UGLY bunch.

Interesting comparison...apples to oranges if you ask me. IMO, the WR corps is a wait and see situation...not necessarily the greatest bunch, but a group that could thrive in Philbin's system. Not going to get too excited until I see the product on the field, though I wouldn't be surprised if one of these guys breaks out and hits 1000 yards.

Wallace is s pud knocker.

But I like Bess, Hartline and Gates, Fasano is a great pass catcher. Plus I really like our new "pass catching TE and our our WR B.J. Cunningham.

Go look at the stats before we had the late great Brandon Marshall. Our QBs threw for MORE yards and TDs without him. And our WRs now are better then the ones we had then.

Name the last "alpha" receiver to win a Super Bowl? Moss, nope. TO? Nope. Fitzgerald? Nope.

In the west coast scheme you don't need big on the outside receivers. You need guys with quickness who can get into space, find holes in the defense, and run good routes.

Well be fine. The Patriots win the division every year not because of their outstanding receivers.

Receivers are so overrated.

They're awful. Only group that might be worse is Cleveland. But I'll sure take Greg Little and Cribbs over anything we got.

Your opinion, but I'm sure most would agree they aren't awful. Again, not the best group in the league, but it's still a young squad that has shown flashes and I'm not surprised if one of 'em is ready to bust out, especially without a certain diva receiver to take away their touches.

When we got Marshall we figured we finally got it set..... How'd that work?... Let it play out.
