I think most pissed at Ricky are probably in your shoes. They just won't admit it like you did. ;)

I had Ricky in my favorite league, but he retired the day before we drafted, so I just didn't keep him like I planned to. I was able to replace him directly with Edge (we use a draft pick forfeiture keeper scheme).

The team i had him picked on was horrible. i think i finished 1 game under .500. I started off like 1-6 or 1-7 and reeled off some victories when i picked up Drew Bennett, Billy Volek and Ruben Droughns.

At the end of the year i looked back at how I drafted for that team. The only player i had starting from my first 9 picks of that draft was Domanick Davis my 2nd rounder.

Here's a few of my first 9 picks that i can remember taking.

Ricky, Chad Pennington, Santana Moss, Jerry Porter, David Boston, Todd Heap, Correll Buckhalter.

Disasterous draft!

Note to any of you who say no:

I'd better not hear you complain about not winning because it's clear that isn't your priority. If you were hungry enough for a Super Bowl win, you wouldn't care about anything but whether the players on the team could get us there.

Which maybe none of us think he can of he comes back, for reason that I explained in my first post in this thread............

I was as anti-this as possible. But over the past few days I've been watching tapes, highlights, looking at pictures, meoribilia and remembering the good times we had a few seasons back. Happy Monday mornings.

I'd take him back but I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. I'd split his carries.

Why think when we can know? Let him try and fail if that's the case.

Forgive? Not likely. But it's hard to argue that he wouldn't make a serious difference for this team. The last time we had some degree of hope every Sunday was when Ricky strapped on the pads each week. I don't care for his off hte field decisions, but no one can question what he does once he steps between those lines.

IMHO, the ideal situation for all concerned would be taking Ronnie Brown and then welcoming Ricky back if he wants to come back. Ronnie is used to splitting the load, so one year won't hurt. Ricky can come back slowly. If they're both firing on all cylinders by the end of the year, trading one of them won't be a problem.

Keeping both wouldn't hurt either if they both played well. That would be one incredible backfield. The D would never catch a break.

If we knew this was coming before we drafted and wanted to set it up long term, the better back would be Williams. He is also used to sharing, and he gives us a little more diversity than Brown does in terms of what our rushing attack would be like.

Writers have never mis-quoted others before? I am not saying they are wrong, but I will not take the word of a colomnist as fact. Not to mention if it is true for all we know those 4 players could be on the practice squad. That's why I take those ramblings with a grain of salt. No need to get worked up on things that haven't happened yet.

I trust Saban will do what is best for the team, until he proves otherwise.

That's why I said "if" this was true. This supposed "off the record" interview was at Ronde Barber's golf tournament, if practice squad players are getting invited to that, then Ronde needs to get a better PR staff. :roflmao:

I didn't say they don't mis-quote people, I just said personally I believe it to be true that if Nick tried to bring Ricky back onto this team like nothing ever happen, the Zach Thomas' and Jason Taylor's would not welcome him back with open arms. In fact, Taylor said as much last week in the Media Day Interviews we saw online here. He said Ricky has other issues to take care of first, like the "child support thing I read about in the paper this morning" said Taylor.

OK, you know what, you are right, I'd let him come back and try, but ONLY if we took another RB (preferably from the big 3) as insurance, because I will NEVER trust Ricky again.............

I think most of us that are saying no(myself included) are basing it on character. He would be a cancer to the team(IMHO). I know the question was "as a fan" would you forgive RW, but I don't think it's possible to separate one from the other. To me "character matters". And I think that it would matter to the players.I'm sure most of them want the Phins to be all they can be and IMO having RW on the team would severly halt that movement. Also for the record and it's my own feeling about it, but I think Saban has no intention of having RW on this team. I think he's just trying to get trade value for him.

There is no such thing as trade value for Ricky Williams until he proves he is worthy of being traded for physically and mentally. That means playing again...for the Dolphins.

Okay, I didn't get to see the article. You are right, it would be ammusing seeing our practice squad getting invited to Ronde Barber's golf tournament.

Could happen though right? :roflmao:

I know JT is not thrilled, but I also think JT is a real man and would not cause a mutiny in the locker room if Saban thought it was the best for the team. JT is a class act, no way he takes that attitude into the locker room or on the field. That's just my oppinion. That goes for Zack, Madison and Pat(If he was still with us:cry: ) So any speculation on who the forth would be, IF it was one of our team leaders?
