I want Tannehill to hold the clipboard and learn from the others,he needs to get comfortable with the speed of the NFL before he takes the reins.
We don't live in a vacuum sorry guys. I'd take wins now... even though this is an outright silly hypothetical.
You take the winning season. Everyone who says "who cares about the playoffs if you're not going to win the superbowl" is a complete moron or just isn't paying attention. The Giants were NOWHERE near the Superbowl favorites last year going into the playoffs but hey guess what happened? They got there, they got hot at the right time and they beat the Patriots, everyone's darling.
Funny how that works, huh? If you want your team to lose, you're not a real fan. I understand the logic of it, but being illogical is what sports are all about. It's why people seem to think a guy sitting or playing makes a goddamn lick of difference. Tannehill doesn't have any mechanical issues. His issues are that of game speed and adjusting to reads. Guess how that improves? GAME PLAY.
You can strongly believe what you want, but you're wrong. Winning 9 games in 2005 didn't lead to more winning. It led to back-to-back losing seasons. Winning in 2008 didn't lead to more winning. It led to three straight losing seasons.I should add that I believe strongly that winning in the base for more winning . IT DOES matter to me, most fans and maybe even more important, to our players and other players in the NFL if we win football games. No one that really cares just wants to collect a pay check and lose.
A 9-7 season or better under Moore could bring about a 10-6 or better season under Tannehill next year.
Have to go to the Doctor, be back later. I consider this poll to be serious.
IMO, Matt Moore gives us the chance to have a winning season. I think we should at least have a 10=6 year with him starting.
I think at best starting Ryan Tannehill could bring us 6 wins or less and risk getting him hurt.
So, would you rather see Ryan Tannehill get the experience now and have us lose for another season or have possible winning season with Matt Moore?
I doubt you'll have a winning record with either at QB, with Bess and Hartline as your starting WRs. I can see the defense dropping off without Mike Nolan as well. Reggie Bush was great last season, but hes injury prone. Lamar Miller was off most teams draft boards because teams threw red flags on his knee and shoulder.
1st off every single person doubted the Bengals would have a winning season last year, everyone doubted 49ers could be a play away from the Superbowl
as for the starting WRs, the Jets WRs were average to mediocre last season, your #1 WR had 51 catches for 600 yards, quit on his team, and is a locker room cancer oh and he hates your pretty boy QB, your #2 is Jeremy Kerley who is at best a slot WR, your 3rd WR is a rookie who caught 30 balls in college, tell Tom Brady that WRs make you a winning team, also tell that Alex Smith working with Ted Ginn, you never know with WRs what they can or cant do, ask Laurent Robinson
"Reggie Bush was great last season, but injury prone" (every single player in the NFL on any given play can tear an ACL).......real breaking news there, great reason for doubting him, shonn greene is the definition of an injury prone soft RB, Stafford was labeled as injury prone coming into this season, howd that work out?
Again thanks for stating the obvious on Lamar Miller, in the 4th round its great value with big upside, and the fact that your using Lamar Miller's red flags as a main reason for not having a winning record just shows how hollow your reason are, the guy will maybe get on the field 10 plays a game this season
as for your Mike Nolan point, the defense under Nolan consistently dissapeared in the 4th quarter of games playing prevent and stopped being aggressive I.E the Patriots game in New England the Phins came out blitzing every play sending pressure at Brady and the Pats were nearly shut out in the 1st hald and the Dolphins had a lead, the whole second half Nolan stopped calling blitzes, was dropping everyone and playing it safe and the Pats came right back and won the game, dont get me wrong Nolan is a great football guy, but the defense would dissapear at big points in the game playing ti safe
and just for reference when the Jets had a new coach and rookie QB in 09, im sure their were tons of doubters including Jets fans, and look what happened, and last season Jets fans the media were riding high on the Jets predicting 12-4 records and success, howd that work out?
oh the Jets just signed Yeremiah Bell, goodluck with him in Laron Landry at the safety spots, the Jets now have the the 2 biggest coverage liabilities in football, Yeremiah is great as an in the box play the run come up and tackle safety, but he cant run with anyone anymore
