Would you trade Jake Long to get RG3?

Hell yes. What good is a left tackle with constant change at QB? What's the point? RBIII appears to be a great prospect and could go along way to saving this franchise...because it is teetering.

Trading one of the best OL in the league for someone that played from Baylor, I think not. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind having him, but I wouldn't trade Long for him.

Well LT is much more important than qb not

Robert Griffin the turd is ugly as a mother ****er and he wont ever do **** as an NFL QB.

Im also sick of hearing about Jake Long and his signifigance to this team. The thing Long does the most for this team is take up way too much cap space for an OT. He's definately one of the top 5 LTs in the game today, but his salary makes no sense and is one of the many reasons he shouldve never been drafted 1st overall in the first place.

You cant really trade Jake Long because no other teams are stupid enough to take on that salary when they could fill that non impact position with someone serviceable at a lot less money. The guy makes QB money. Im not even sure he is tradeable because of his contract even if some other team wanted to pay it.

Those of you who wouldnt trade him for a legit big time QB are ****ing lost. Definately wouldnt trade him for Robert Griffin the turd, but would do it in a heartbeat for a real QB.

And those of you who think the Colts would consider coming off the top pick for some kind of package that involved Long are also lost. The Colts are smart enough to take a beast of a QB when they have the first overall pick. And even if they did trade it, they would take picks and playmakers. If they want a LT, they could use the pick they get in return and take one of those other 2 after Kalil and pay him a ton less money than Long makes.

not sure if we can trade him, his injuries might have him on PUP to start next year. Long is messed up bad. People don't realize how bad it is. He IS Tony Boceli!

wht did marino have on the left side blocking for him.he had no running game and poor o line play ,but we were in every game and made the playoffs almost every year.i say if jake is our way to rg3 do it

Are you really comparing RG3 to Marino? Your comparing a rookie QB from Baylor who has never played a down in the NFL to one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. If you could guarantee RG3 is the second coming of Marino then yes...otherwise HELL NO!!!

Such a poor left side line with 7 time pro bowl LT Richmond Webb, and 3 time pro bowl LG Kieth Sims.

without a thought. Easy yes. We need a qb more than we need an injury riddled lineman

Cincinnati took Andre Smith in the top ten, who sucks. Denver has Ryan Clady, who was a top twelve pick. Atlanta has Sam Baker who, while not getting paid a ton, they traded back into the first round to get him. Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati were both top twenty picks in the same draft for the 49ers, so they're getting paid. They also traded back into the first round to get Joe Staley. The Giants paid a decent chunk of money for David Baas. Ravens have Ben Grubbs and Michael Oher, both first rounders. Not a direct correlation, but it does matter.

Jake Long - $11,200,000.00

Andre Smith - $490,000.00

Ryan Clady - $1,105,000.00

Sam Baker - $1,012,500.00

Anthony Davis - $487,500.00

Mike Iupati - $405,000.00

Joe Staley - $650,000.00

David Baas - $1,000,000.00

Ben Grubbs - $2,995,000.00

Michael Oher - $630,000.00

I did not say, don't draft them either. I said don't make them the highest paid players on your team! Look up your facts before posting things. Nobody even comes close to what Long is making and bear in mind that Long will be in the last year of his deal and he will want to be paid as a top 5 OT when he gets a new deal. Guess what that means, he will get paid a boatload of money!

I looked all of the Playoff teams up and Jake Long makes more alone than over half of the teams entire offensive lines. I had it all typed up but then my CPU somehow rebooted and I lost them all and don't want to look them back up. I believe it was Baltimore, which I figured in Gurode's $5,000,000.00 figure and he doesn't start, and Detroit that were slightly higher. I believe it was Baltimore around 15 Million and Detroit around 12-13 Million. Most of them were in the 9 Million range.

Anyone have a link to Mort and Shefter reporting this? Couldn't fine anything on ESPN.
