That is exactly my question. Its not about Dan persay my question is more generic. Is there anyone you would NOT trade for a SHOT at the SB????

Just being honest....I'm 39 years old and saw the Dolphins win back to back SB's in the early 70's, and have waited 30+ years for another .....I just hope I wont have to wait forever and be like an 80 year old Red Sox fan who waited their whole life to see them win another one. :shakeno:

No! I was three...THREE years old when they last won. I was so excited I crapped my diaper and spilled my bottle. I don't want to be 80 years old crapping my diaper the next time they win the Super Bowl!

There isnt a trade out there that would of given us any better of a chance than Danny did. He was the heart and soul of the fins for years. He is the only reason we won 30-40% of the games we won. No ring opportunity would make that trade worth it for me. I watched Dan's last debacle with a warm heart still hoping he would come back. The knowledge that he was not the same guy made no difference. He was the Fins to me and I could never see trading such a player for any opportunity.

The only problem with this was that in his final days Marino's arm strength was severly lacking. If he was to be throwing to Moss, those passes would have, most likely, ended up behind him. That wouldn't have been a pretty sight. I, for one, am glad he decided against it.

That's tough...I agree that I can't picture Danny in anything but aqua and orange...but that also goes for a few others...(Czonka, B. Griese, Stephenson, Little, Offerdahl...) but all those guys, Marino included were of a different era and you would not have seen them traded...Marino is a special case...Seeing him in another jersey was like watching Montana as a Chief or Emmit as Card...Just looks funny. There is no one on this team...JT and Zach included, IMO that I would not trade away to better the team.

Never Ever, Ever Never Absloutly Not, No Way Jose, Forget It I Refuse To Think About It, There Is No-way I Would Want To See Dan Marino In Any Other Uniform, I've Seen The Dolphins In All There Superbowls And The Games Where Good Games, But There Only Games. They Don't Even Compare To The Enjoyment I Had Watching Dan, Playing Football. It Really Saved So Many Games For Us And That Was Pure Pleasure.
 
if it was anything like the hershel walker deal, i would have traded dan towards the end of his career but i was never the dan fan the rest of you seem to be. besides his incredible arm, great pocket presence, and quick release, he was just a qb w/ an entire offense designed around his strengths. his play-action was probably the worst in the league. his never run attitude put our d on the field too much. and he was never spectacular in the playoffs. if we would have traded him for some 1st round picks, we would have had more of a team, then a one man assault. football passing aside, what makes this guy such a hero? in san francisco, joe montana is nothing compared to the way a lot of u worship dan. and i'm not trying to flame, just trying to figure it out.

Watching Marino work, unlike Montana or even Elway...he CARRIED this team for the bulk of his career...He was personally responsible for at least 3-4 wins a year. Montana ALWAYS had a great supporting cast around him...Elway only won the important games when he had a great supporting cast...After the Marks bros left...Marino never had a great cast around him offensively...Shula's plan was for him to work his specialty (the defense) and let Marino carry the offense...we came close, but not close enough during that time. It's ashame we couldn't muster some kind of running game for Marino...
