I really think Alabi is a 2 year project with a lot of upside. D-Mac is safe for now in my opinion.

He's got tools, but I see him as a project at this point. He won't start as a rookie. He's got to improve his footwork and learn to transition his strength from the weight room to the football field. I believe he will spend a season as a reserve that doesn't get activated, but it will be a season to work with Coach Houck and Coach Davis on technique and Coach Gamble and Coach Clark on transferring his strength.

Mort said on espn that anyone that Houck has hand picked he is not going to doubt. The more people bttling for a position the better IMO.

Are you serious? How can you possibly project a 5th round player (who himself is considered a project) as a LT and Ben Wilkerson (who wasn't even drafted) as our starting center? If we have two rookies starting for us next year, a 5th and UDFA, we're in SERIOUS trouble.

I'm not saying neither guy will be good (although I'll bet anything Wilkerson never starts for an NFL team, his own coach didn't think he was worth a 7th round pick) but as rookies they will be lucky to make the squad. Alabi has a better chance to make the team, but will be hard pressed to be activated on game day.
 
I think the new Pope Benedict the 16th would have a shot as a starter too, give the quality of our existing players on the OL.

If Wilkerson didn't have injury problems he would have gone on day one. If he ever gets healthy again he'll be a good center.

I never believed for a minute that anything about bringing in another tackle was wrote into Damion's contract. I can't believe that some of you actually believed that Nick Saban would do something like that.

I didn't either. I don't think such a clause could have been created.
 
His contract stated that they wouldn't sign another free agent Tackle...does the draft count??
