Just why would any NFL GM do such a thing for such an AVG player?

Sorry it makes no sense to me. It seems much more possibly Saban said to he and his agent we don't feel the need right now to sign anyone else.

I never believed for a minute that anything about bringing in another tackle was wrote into Damion's contract. I can't believe that some of you actually believed that Nick Saban would do something like that.

our line is a mess
the only potential for improvement we can hope for is hoping carey turns things around and mcdougle pans out
we're pretty much just depending on a line coach to improve a bad line which can be done with time

Obviously he won't start but that's a worthwhile pick. A rangy tackle with decent feet and athletic ability is much better than we typically identify in the late rounds. I was very happy when I heard the name. I only focused on Alabi in one game last year but I remember thinking he was NFL caliber. He almost seemed to think too much and worry about his positioning instead of imposing his superior skills on the defender.
