They looked like strong hands.
How lol
If this is true, a smart GM would sign both James and Howard to new deals and have the bulk of the cap hits be in 2020. I know that’s what I would do.

According to the Article, Miami would need to absorb all of Tannehill's contract in 2019. Which is a big part of the cash influx for 2020. He also mentioned Alonzo, McDonald and Jones being cut. As well as the cap increasing to about $198m. But also points out the $120m could decrease IF, Miami extends Tunsil and Howard.

According to Barry Jackson, Miami Could have as much as $120M in cap space in 2020. Just out of curiosity, who are the available F/A for 2020, a year where he says, Miami could become players?
Cool.
So you see yourself as a "smart GM" type.
Really?
Well, I never claimed as such, but I do type in complete sentences and I don’t use 14 year old girl texting lingo, so I’m much closer than you are.
Exactly.none of them have worked out for us...
Wallace - Bust
Ellerbe - Bust
Albert - was All-Pro in 2014 before he got hurt, but never lived up to the deal
Suh - great player, but no one not named Aaron Donald could have lived up to that asinine contract.
I did laugh thoughWell, I never claimed as such, but I do type in complete sentences and I don’t use 14 year old girl texting lingo, so I’m much closer than you are.

Wow, I didn't see how we could cut Kiko Alonso, Reshad Jones or TJ McDonald with all that dead cap space, but if we can swallow it all in 2019, we really can tear this down to the ground and rebuild it from scratch. That would be a bold but good move, IMHO. It would also clearly signal that we're tanking with a plan.According to the Article, Miami would need to absorb all of Tannehill's contract in 2019. Under the expected cap!!!
No, the Kiko, McDonald and Jones cuts would be in the 2020 offseason, and be part of another cap purge that year. You can include Harris in that purge as well. Tannehill would have to be absorbed in 2019; if Miami chooses that course?Wow, I didn't see how we could cut Kiko Alonso, Reshad Jones or TJ McDonald with all that dead cap space, but if we can swallow it all in 2019, we really can tear this down to the ground and rebuild it from scratch. Even without getting rid of ALL of those guys we still should have over 100mill in cap space for 2020. They just need to be smart and not tap into all of it in one off season cause then you're back to square one.No, the Kiko, McDonald and Jones cuts would be in the 2020 offseason, and be part of another cap purge that year.
