I've never seen a season decided by the first preseason game.

Repeat after me....

IT

DOESN'T

COUNT...

please try to understand that.

Thanks!

No it doesn't count, but its very disheartening to see that there is basically no improvement on this team.... very little to get excited about.

nooooooooooo... this game tells us everything, carey needs to be out of footbal... travis daniels really sucks, we were just being tricked in TC... feeley got sacked so hes got no pocket awareness... frerrotes lucky TD passes will lead us to the superbowl... and thompson needs to be cut

dude, there was no gameplan, it was a workout. How can you say there was no improvement??

How many snaps did JT, Zach, etc even play??

Game 3 counts, wake me up then.

You know what Jt and Zach can do.... Im not talking about them. Im talking about an OL that can't get a push or pick up a blitz. I'm talking about CBs that can't saty with thier man. Safeties that are now where to be found. RBs that dance in the backfield instead of getting whatever they can get. A DL that got no pressure at all on the QBs all game. ALL of that is simply one on one play. No scheme necessary. Tell me one DL that beat his man out and out all game? If you didn;t come out of this game, basic startegy or not, concerned about our lack of talent at key positions, positions that were supposed to be addressed over the off season, then you have those rose colored glasses glued to your head!

You fail to realize that we had no gameplan. Simply put, we weren't going to give teams an opportunity to have 6 weeks to study us on film. You know how secretive Saban is... he doesn't like to show his cards until he's ready to play them. On the other hand, the Bears seemed intent on winning, and I believe they gameplanned and executed like it was a real game. Al Michaels said "You don't blitz this much in the Hall of Fame game". Simply put, they went all out, and our newly formed still learning and non-gameplanned team got manhandled a bit at the beginning. Big deal.

If, however, they look the same game 1... you can say we're in for a long season.

Our starters were ahead of their starters at half time.

Thanks.

What does a game plan have to do with individual play? Is a game plan gona keep Howard from getting toasted? Is it gonna keep Hadnot from being puched into the backfield? Is it gonna make Feeley not panic when pressured? Come on, I know there was no game plan! I am simply not impressed with the product we are putting out on the field. Let me tell you, Saban may be able to win some games early with smoke and mirrors, but it will catch up to him by mid-season if the individual play on this team doesn't improve!

So? ............... We must be SB bound since we lead at halftime.

Just as much as the fact that we are doomed because we lost the first preseason game.

Who said anything about being doomed? Can you honestly say that you were impressed with our performance last nght? You can be as optimistic as you want.... I'll be realistic instead. We didn't play well on an individual basis! Especially in areas we knew need to improve!

It's amazing how quickly we all get disheartened. It's one game, a preseason game, the first preseason game of 5 with many position battles and much to learn. Everyone needs to relax. It will be fine. It wasn't even our starting offense or defence to start the game. I think we did reasonable. Derrius will struggle to make the team IMO especially since he is a notoriously good practice player. Diamond looked great (bye, bye Dropsies). Feely had some good quick throws with good velocities. The oline needs to gel and get established. And need to learn the defense.

Just kick some *** on madden and wait for the real season to start

Actually it semed as though the game plan was to test a few guys, did you notice how they went at Donald Lee like 4of6 plays, the same with the run, It looked like the game plan was to see how the guys reacted in a game situation. To me this game was more about who they are going to cut/keep then gameplan.

i gotta side with fan4good on this one, i know there was no gameplan, but what the ma is saying is that alot of our players (o-line, db's) didnt perform as well as we all expected. all i saw all night was our oline going backwards, not opening holes, and sucking all around(and im one thats been exited about this unit all offseason) and wr open all over the field. iknow its the first preseason game and they have plenty of time to improve but based on LAST NIGHT ONLY were in for a long season
