WR Rishard Matthews is not a favorite of Dolphins coach Joe Philbin.

I like Mathews game... I'm rooting for him. Maybe the added competition will push him to be better. I also love the pick of Landry looking forward to seeing him bring that toughness to the team. I only saw him play twice but he made an impression while I watched the game. Mayock says he is the most physical receiver in this draft and one of his favorites in the entire draft. Good enough for me.

Everyone is trying to guess who Landry is a replacement for.

3 WRs on our team had pretty bad knee injuries, Landry is more of insurance than a replacement.

This is just news no one but philbin and the front office knows the truth... you guys get so excited about everything... truth is we have no idea. Stop worrying and let it play out. If matthews gets beat out thats just what it is.... how do u no what relationship the coach has with his players gtfoh... hes closer to these players than any one of us on this site. He was a players favorite in greenbay so if he has a problem here maybe its his underachieving players. Who he did not draft.

There will be a competition for who gets to play and if Landry is the pro that everybody hopes he is he'll be I think he'll get significant playing time. I believe one of Philbin's principle philosophies is the team will not put us behind the 8-ball, no player on the the team should do anything that jeopardizes our chances and its solely up to the QB to win or lose the game for us. What I mean by that is if a receiver runs a wrong route and causes an INT Philbin sees that as an epic failure on not just the player but on himself and the staff. On the other hand if Tannehill makes a bad throw then it is what it is.

I'm not buying any of this stuff.

I think Brian Hartline is the guy they're looking to replace. Joe Philbin has seen him for two years. Seen that he can't go up and make a catch on a contested football, seen that he can't do anything after the catch, and seen that despite what some people on this board claim, the dude is unreliable as hell (see: Bills game 2 last year). I think they're just floating names now to dilute speculation.

just my opinion but I think Matthews is one the "chosen" players that get's A LOT of love on this forum. Nothing wrong with the kid, but if Landry outplays him I don't care about the feel good story of a 7th rounder working his way up to start, I want the best player on the field. Our offense is the weak link on this team and we need to be constantly improving our roster, from OL to WR. From what I'm reading about Landry I want to see him on the field, personally...

Also, I didn't see Philbin's name mentioned anywhere in the quip from Armando, I saw the Dolphins weren't high on him. If that's the case, than there is probably just cause.....

I actually think Wallace is the one thats causing us to "dumb down" our playbook. I think we're looking to move on from both Wallace and Hartline but for completely different reasons.

Agreed. If you like at the potential 4 WR set I put up yesterday (Hartline, Landry, Wallace, & Gibson); its obvious who the weak link is.

Hint: he went to Ole Miss.

Not sure where this story came from but really like & routing for RM, competition only gonna make this WR room competitive.

I agree...I think Hartline is getting replaced, not Matthews.

I don't think Hartline is unreliable, but the problem is all he does is use his body well and catch the ball. When that's all you do, and you drop the ball a couple of times, it's going to look worse than a more dynamic WR with a couple of drops.

He is not a particular 3rd down threat, he is 0 YAC threat, and he doesn't get TDs. So when he fails once or twice at the one thing he's supposed to do, it looks worse.

Armundo just trying to create a story. He knows nothing about the Miami Dolphins.
