WR Rishard Matthews is not a favorite of Dolphins coach Joe Philbin.

I'm not buying any of this stuff.

I think Brian Hartline is the guy they're looking to replace. Joe Philbin has seen him for two years. Seen that he can't go up and make a catch on a contested football, seen that he can't do anything after the catch, and seen that despite what some people on this board claim, the dude is unreliable as hell (see: Bills game 2 last year). I think they're just floating names now to dilute speculation.

I don't necessarily buy that Philbin is actively trying to dump him. I think our **** WR coach never really liked the guy.

Listening to David Shaw and now Jimbo Fisher talking about players and the game in general right now on NFL networks, shows me how lacking our own Head Coach is. I couldn't imagine him ever being invited onto the draft show there to impart his wisdom, like the Ravens HC just was. Who would want to listen to him ?

Truer words have never been spoken. It's why no matter how the talent on our team unfolds, my optimism for next year is zapped because Joe Phibin is the head coach.

Because Joe wants robots who don't say a word and just nod in agreement to everything. Players who are as dry as dust like he is.

I would bet that Hickey doesn't make ANY selection unless Philbin totally approves of it. Philbin is the guy pulling the strings, Hickey has the title of GM but it's just a title.

Maybe Matthews forgot to pick up a piece of paper he dropped on the locker room floor so Joe wants him gone for being untidy

Cant believe all the hate going towards Hartline when he actually out performed someone on this roster making twice as much... I just don't get it... Its not like you can say he had a better QB throwing him the ball...

Rishard Matthews - WR - Dolphins
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero believes WR Rishard Matthews is not a favorite of Dolphins coach Joe Philbin.
The Palm Beach Post considered Matthews an early favorite for the starting slot receiver job over Brandon Gibson (knee surgery), but several reports have surfaced indicating the Dolphins are not high on Matthews. The latest sign is the selection of Jarvis Landry in the third round. Landry's lack of top-end speed will make him a better fit for a slot role in the NFL; the same role occupied by Matthews in 2014. He may find himself fighting for his job this preseason.

I highly doubt this , Mathews is turning into an excellent player

Just because we drafted a WR doesn't mean anything for Matthews. Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Landry, Mathews sounds good to me.

If true, tell Joe to get over himself. Not every person on the 53 man roster is going to be perfect.

You want talented people. Would it be so bad to have a bunch of skilled WR? It gives the team versatility, depth, and the ability to tell a free agent "good luck".

I must rename this thread to the "We want Joe Philbin to Get Hit By a Bus Apprecation Thread" from the way this conversation is going.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Who said anything about Philbin wanting perfection from anyone?

I got to stand by that assessment of BH. Couldn't fault JP for thinking that way.
