Former Southern California defensive tackle Manuel Wright, who is considered the top player available in the NFL supplemental draft Thursday, was arrested in April 2003 on three misdemeanor charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.
The arrest occurred before Wright began attending USC. Agent Peter Schaffer said the charges were dismissed and doesn't think the incident will hurt Wright's status.
''All the teams know about it and it's a non-factor,'' said Schaffer, who expects Wright to be selected in the second or third round despite poor workouts.
The Dolphins have shown strong interest in Wright. They had five people at his workout Friday, including general manager Randy Mueller, defensive coordinator Richard Smith, defensive line coach Dan Quinn and two scouts, Schaffer said.
So what was the reason we are interested in him ?
