WVDolphan's Get Real - Jeff Ireland "Like a Boss"

I blame our failure of the season more so on the coaching staff and poor execution then i do on Ireland. I think Ireland put together a roster that should have went to the playoffs. Its not his fault we choked..

On the LB issue. I feel like the coaching staff wanted us to get younger/quicker LB's since our Lbs got burned in coverage last season so badly and never generated any type of pressure. We dont know if SIgning Ellerbe and Wheeler were soley on Ireland or not. And lets not forget that Dansby came into camp last season out of shape and had his ups and downs.

Now for the O line... I dont think the O line is entirely talentless. He tried to resign Long but he wanted way too much money for an injury prone LT. He went with Martin who seems to be a bust now, but at the time a lot of people here wanted to see what he could do. Signed Clabo which everyone here loved... And had Incognito coming back who was a Pro Bowler and Pouncy who is a pro bowler.

I blame our O line problems on a few different reasons. 1. Zone Blocking Scheme. We simply do not have the right personnel for this scheme. Bad choice by our staff to go with this scheme. 2. our Go/Go, Go Cadence. Something that was rarely ever switched up and was one of the dumbest things i have ever seen. How can you expect the line to pass block when the D hears
"Go" and then the Line can go hard at the QB and whoever is blitzing can go hard at the QB knowing that its a pass before the QB even has the ball in his hands. Same with the running game. How can you expect the team to run block when the D hears "go go" and the D knows its a run and they all run towards the LOS. How can you expect our HB or line to do anything with that? If you notice on "Go go" plays, just watch how the D reacts. 3. I forget what it was, but it has been mentioned about Pouncy and his head movement giving away the snap count or w.e all season.

Ireland went out and got Wallace who was a flop by the numbers and a dissapointment. But he is what he is.. ANd what he was , was a player who should have had easily 300 more yards and 4 Tds more if Tannehill could connect with him on the Deep ball. I am a Tannehill supporter, but im not going to ignore the fact that he missed Wallace quite a few times. Hopefully they can get their timing down better and be a better duo next season. Also the play calling was pretty ****ty all season long as well. SHerman is a poor offensive coach and our QB coach shouldnt be a QB coach in the NFL and coaching a young , up and coming starter like Tannehill. Sherman is Philbins guy, not Irelands guy.

Its so easily to point at the GM, and say look at how bad this player is or he didnt draft or sign this player he sucks.. Its so easy to blame the GM.. BUt the fact is.. he put together a pretty solid roster which is young and played pretty well most season. Team should have easily had more wins then it did. ANd once again, thats not on the GM... Its on the staff and the players. Ireland didnt give up a 4th and 10 against the panthers on their 20 and let them march down the field for a TD. Ireland didnt call out of a pass play against the bills and then fumble the ball at the 50 when all we needed to do was run the ball and run the clock.

If we can Ireland, we better have somebody who is good coming into replace him.

Wow, Ireland still has a fan.

Im not a fan, nor am i a Hater. Im realistic about our issues and Ireland is not the issue. We are well under the cap, have a young solid team that is improving and should be in the playoffs right now. Its not Irelands fault , its the coaches fault mainly and the players fault secondly. Yes Wheeler and Dansby suck. But i it looked like a good move in the offseason.

And again i blame the Line woes more on the cadence and scheme then the players themselves.

For some reason I seem the only one taking issue with this but being well under the cap is not a positive, it was a huge blunder.

One good thing about having a lot of caps space.... Is we can enter FA this season and fix our problems on the line and maybe sign a LB if needed. Or a HB that could help us out. We have the cap space flexibility to make adjustments to the roster this offseason. Fk You Ireland for allowing us to be flexible in our future in the middle of a rebuilding stage!!! Aaaaarg!!

One bad thing is it probably cost us a playoff appearance this season...

The problem is drafting. Ireland can not draft to save his life. Anyone can recognize our weeknesses and overpay in FA to fill the need.

disagree... if you read you will find that ireland is a boss... therefore he drafts like a boss... signs free agents like a boss and pisses in nature with no hands like a ****ing boss

WV probably flip flops on that too.. it's round, no its flat, no its round, no its definately flat...

Jeflon staying Dolphins GM like a boss! 2014 draft cornfed mailers like a boss!

Ireland goes all out in a Olineman "rich" draft....ARG FIRELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bring in new GM goes all out in an Olineman "rich" draft..... Oh s***** HE GETS WHAT THIS DOLPHIN TEAM NEEDS

smh

look at the draft and see it doesn't freaking matter who the GM THIS YEAR...because its an Oline heavy draft, we still have 29 M under the cap
this offseason is RIPE to address just what we need and thats the front line, Dline depth, and we have the money to sign our Key FA's plus one or two solid to pretty darn good FAs from other teams...

I dont Hate Ireland nor do i Love Ireland...but damn..this offseason is NOT the one to b***** about him because what we want/need is clear...and he has set this team up just to take advantage of this offseason...whether he is retained as GM or not

Are you serious? Ireland has proven he has no ability to find OL without massively overreaching for them in the 1st rounds. Otherwise every OL he has drafted or signed as a FA has sucked. He has already tried 2x to build the line and the result has been we have the worst OL ever.

if you honestly believe if we were able to retain Jake, this WHOLE thing about Martin would have blown up? remember he tried to give more money to Jake but Jake left...
there are a potential SIX Tackles and 3 Guards coming out in the first round...you could miss and still pick a great one....not to mention you have another 2 more possible good tackles in Seantreal Henderson and James Hurst in the second....

no matter WHO the GM is we have great choices going forward....plus 29 M to to back up the brink truck to Grimes, and sign whoever else Philbin feels will help this team
