Yermiah Bell to be cut

Glad he's gone, overrated, over paid, and under performs. He was absolutely terrific as a spot player when he came in for blitzes and filled in occasionally. When he became an every down safety is when his production fell off big time and after he got his contract he's been a glorified Channing Crowder with a much better personality.

WOW!!! maybe ireland isnt as inept as i thought!!

i have been screaming for this for the last 3 seasons.

he is a liability in coverage, expecially around the endzone. his only game is making a big hit once every 4 games or so.

one of the reasons we are in the boat we are is because the organization hangs on to vastly over rated, expendable, replacable players for to long. and bell is one of those guys.

the only thing i hope is they have a plan for the safety position. there is a plan to UPGRADE him. laron landry just signed with the jets so it wont be him. there is no one else in f/a at that position worth bringing in. thats what i have been eyebrowing since we traded marshall, whats the UPGRADE plan? did we just get rid of him or do we have something to counter punch with?

aint gonna be wallace. he aint leaving pitts and coming here. its rumoured the broncos are going to sign him for peyton.

i hope the jets do sign bell!! more deep ball completions for us!!

look at d jacks TD, Yeremiah doesn't have the greatest hips, got caught flat footed & just doesn't have great cover

Yeremiah Is my favorite player, so when this happened (and he was getting smashed by all of the fans) I tweeted sam madison to ask to break down the play. He replied to me he basicly said it was the falut of the corner (vontae) for not getting Depth when the #2 wr blocked. Yeremiah should have had help and he did not.

I agree that he was not the best cover guy, but he is the one who tends to get blamed when he is the only guy in the frame of the camera and we have other players who dont even know their assignments.

I for one am hoping for a re-sign, however it is more likley that he will end up in atlanta with nolan or philly with bowels.

I like that. Certainly in the top tier of most overrated players in franchise history.

I'd listen to accolades toward Yeremiah Bell that never matched what I saw on the field. It seemingly became chic to list him among our best players, and everyone marched along.

I have no problem with this cut but kind of fell bad for bell who offered to restructure before free agency.
Not sure safety will be upgarded. Marshall should be good at safety, lets pray he is safety because at corner he will be a liability

I am having a huge deja vu moment. It is telling that something big is going to happen. But honestly I don't even believe that anymore... And I have a very strange deja vu history. That was inacted when I died from falling of the high dive and fracturing my skull at the age of 10. Long story but it is kind of freaky.

Are you alive or did you die when you were 10?

This was an expected cut so I am surprised at the amount of resistance. What bothers me is this should have been done a week ago to give him the opportunity to catch on with another team. Spare me the crap they didn't want him to get signed by the Jets because obviously they don't think he is that good.

Another reason why players look at how this organization treats the employees and don't want to be a part of it.

Financial move.

Sucks because Bell had some good years in Miami, but he was getting paid way too much and is nothing like he used to be.

Good luck to Bell.

Still better than most of the db's in the league. Check for yourself. His stats hold up to the best db's in the league. Why don't we trade Jake Long for more picks. He is getting hurt too much anyway.

I am as big of a YB fan as there is. Really liked the guy and sucks to see him go but he wasn't getting any younger and had a high cap number. They decided to walk away from Crowder in favor of Burnett, and Porter for Wake so I will wait to see what the plan is on this one. I will always be a YB fan but they can do better at this point, just probably should have handled getting rid of him a little better.
