Ha it is so funny how split this fan base is on this site. You have one side stroking their brainy egos because they "knew" their favorite team was going to blow and be a laughing stock. Then you have the "real" fans who will support no matter what because it's their team. The guy making this thread had great intentions, but everyone decided to just flame on his opinion because it makes them sleep better at night or some **** like that.
Both sides have valid arguments. There is no "right" or "wrong" when your team looks like flaming putrid garbage.
The haters' argument about not supporting this team has a strong foundation. Right now the organization has to see that we as fans are really upset at how **** is being handled. Every day is a debacle and a head scratcher. It's actually pretty entertaining watching how far this team has fallen. They need to hear and see the message that this needs to change NOW and we as fans do not like what we are seeing. The funny thing is Homers see the Haters as ship jumpers and fair-weather fans, but they're still here on these forums. The Haters are the ones seeing it from a more global perspective, and get a bigger picture on the team. Even if they don't, their outward manifestations show that they see this team in the context of the whole NFL, and where the 'Phins stand in comparison to everyone else.
The homers' argument about supporting the team also has strong foundations as well. It's our ****ing team! They need to see that we have their backs, and want them to succeed. It's sad when players think about their fan base hoping that they fail so that the Haters can say, "I told you so." It's juvenile and infantile. Haters see this as "blind faith" and not having any football smarts to know that their team blows. I see posts constantly by Haters saying **** like, "goes to show how little most homers really know about football." Really? And you all know more about football than Homers how? Are you columnists for media outlets where your opinions matter? No. The overwhelming majority of fans on this forum are average Joe-s with keen interests in this particular team and organization.
Those arguments being said it's all null and void. They cancel each other out. That's what forums are for. This Doom and Gloom Ville would be even more depressing, considering the current state of the organization, if everyone was all joyous and optimistic about everything. Everything has to be taken into perspective.
The glass is not half full and it is not half empty. The Dolphins don't even deserve to have a half cup of juice. There are some sips left in the cup before it all gets depleted. You can either savor it to the very end and slurp up every last drop and annoy everyone around you, or go get another refill while there's still some juice left and talk smack about how you can just go get some more juice. It's a matter of personal preference.
I find it so obnoxious (like my post) that fans here bash and flame each other for having a differing opinion. A lot of the time there is no cordiality between our own fan base on this site. We are here for a singular purpose. To root for the 'Phins in the way you feel is correct. Let bygones be bygones. We all know forums are meant for arguing and discussing differing opinions, but not one person on this site is "right" because they predicted the downfall of our team in ****ing week 2 of the season. And not one person is "wrong" because they didn't predict that their team was going to blow 2 weeks into the season.
We as fans are all here because we want the Dolphins to succeed. There is an implied consent wanting the Dolphins to beat the hell out of every team. Why else would we call ourselves Dolphin fans and be on this site arguing over this crap?
I feel like a lot of posters are missing the mark with their posts by bashing other posters. These ad hominem (look it up if you care) arguments are just taking up bandwidth on this site. (Kind of like this rant)
