Your thoughts on Brock Berlin

Ok so yes i am a cane and yes i am bias when it comes to my cane players... but i dont think people give Brock the credit he is due. The man has heart and he has talent. He has quite a few things he doesnt do well but no one can argue with his abilities in the 2 minute drill! I personally dont like Sage because i dont feel that he has done anything to prove he is capable of anything but clip-board holding. He obviously hasnt done enough to get out of the 3rd string spot. For some reason Dolphin fans believe he is some amazing QB that just never gets a shot. With three different coaches.. you would think one of them would have given him a shot if he had an real talent. I personally think Brock would have been better with a better offensive line and running backs while he was here... If he stopped looking straight at his receivers... he would have been pretty good. Has great arm strength and mobility... i think he could be better than Sage.

Great Arm strength and mobility? No Running Game? He may not have had past UM's RB's, but they were able to run the ball. Berlin was locked on in the pocket, receiver not open, get sacked, not always the O-line with him. With everything, we still saw at least 5 to my count Offensive UM players go in the first day of the draft the past 2 years, we weren't that short of talent.

he will surprise and make the team just watch the HOF game and you'll see what I'm talking about

Berlin was a marginal college QB and will never play a down in the NFL. He'll probably wind up in the CFL or AFL, or get out of football and do something else.

He has future high school gym teacher written all over him.

He could barely win at UM with all the talent in the world around him. He'll never make it in the NFL.

Exactly.

Practice squad is a reach...I see him going to the CFL and maybe getting a shot as a backup NFL qb sometime in the future...after he does the Joe Theismann/Doug Flutie thing up North.

The reason he is good in the two minute drill is because he lines up shot gun. It's all he is real good at. He ran out of the shot gun in high school the whole time, and it hurt him when he got to Florida.

He is at his worst when he lines up behind the Center. He seems to lose his senses when he drops back. His arm strength is mediocre, and he is far from mobile. Sage may not ever reach second string, but Berlin won't be replacing him.

huge canes fan here, and i could not wait to see him leave.

not only does he telegraph the path worse than anyone i have ever seen, but he had a low wonderlich score at the combine.

also, i could never understand why we (the canes) didn't really blow anyone out at all last year with all of the talent and speed we have at receiver.
